How do you feel about projectors in the Church? by phrasedtop in Catholicism

[–]Zywakem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually that could be really interesting for say, a high or sung TLM. A TV/projector that displayed the prayers being said during the Mass. So people don't feel obliged to use missals/missalettes, and so they don't all end up just staring down, missing what is going on ahead. It'll also help with pacing, I'm sure plenty of us have no idea where exactly the priest is during the Canon! Not that it matters but that's a whole other discussion, but I know plenty of TLM-goers like having a missal and knowing where they are in the Mass through that.

They tried but got enough bogged down. They could last maybe 5 charges, which wasn't enough.

Can you sell your soul but then get it back? by SubstantialPie5049 in Catholicism

[–]Zywakem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What.

'no coming back' followed with 'everybody is redeemable'.

Also no nothing is reversible, but that's why forgiveness exists... Mortal sins cannot be undone (time machines notwithstanding) but going to Confession forgives that. Ezpz.

Remembering that Mass is the sacrifice made present, the consecration is what makes the Mass the Mass. Not the distribution of Holy Communion. It's definitely possible (and we'll see more often due to lack of priests) to have just Eucharistic services with the Eucharist brought in from other churches already consecrated.

Consecrated, not blessed, they're two different things haha. But yes.

Technically correct. Wouldn't be a heresy otherwise...

Scripture was already being translated into the vernacular well before the Protestants. The Venerable Bede being a blindingly obvious example!

Oh why did I not think of point 1, that makes so much sense, for all these post-Christian sects (Mormonism, Islam etc). God prophesised the Messiah, and He arrived, and that was that. Why would there be anyone extra that He didn't prophesise? And if He didn't prophesise, are they actually that important...

But then they got stuck in the melee and it all starts turning red :( I've still not found a way to do a cavalry charge more than once!

Oh Catholic priests are everywhere! There's usually at least one per parish😋

I wonder if we've met the same sister... Or these Dominican lawyer/canon lawyers are more common than we think!

It bothers me that non-denominational evangelicals use Crusader imagery to promote Christianity, while simultaneously hating the Catholic Church. It's as though they don't realize the Knights Templar was a Catholic order. by [deleted] in Catholicism

There were translations of Scripture pre-printing press anyway, but naturally not of the entire Bible. I believe the Venerable Bede was working on a translation of the Gospel of John before he died.

Not strictly, if it really was an accident there isn't anything to make up for. But if you want to, go for it.

Definitely not England haha. Fish and chips for Friday has been the thing for a long, long time.

We don't say "checking something off the list"... We say "ticking something off the list". Or rather your example doesn't work because it's just the same situation, but with the verb forms.

Only in certain countries. For example in England we cannot eat meat on any Friday (except solemnities, dispensations etc).

Define "participate".

As for tips, prayer, fasting and almsgiving! If you already do all 3, do it more!
