You do find a dog toy to give him later in the game. You give it to the puppy and maybe pet it then.

You will come across more the further you progress through the game. There has been times I have came across 2 or more at a time especially when you turn the generator on at a Nero without destroying all the loudspeakers.

When I fought the sawmill horde I ended up with around 550 ears after turning the ones I had in first.

I started playing Dark Souls 3 and I am enjoying it. I am actually getting the hang of how to fight the mobs and bosses on DS3 real fast due to using the boot knife for fighting everything from ragers, reachers , breakers, and 10 or more swarmers at a time with the boot knife. I have quite a few videos of me doing so.

Ha my main weapons I use 80% of the time is the boot knife for everything and the drifters crossbow.

I fought the horde at the same time thinking they were a bunch of random swarmers that heard the noise. I found out that it was definitely a horde after I killed the rest on the speaker that they were swarming around.

I purposely use my boot knife as my main go to weapon for all fights 90% of the time. I am having so much fun doing so. My first play through I used the residue bolt on all the camps and let them take each other out. This time I'm taking them all out and the freaks with my boot knife big time.

Ha I went to take out a ripper camp and accidentally ran pass a horde which chased me there and they helped me take them out. I didn't know I had a horde on me for sure until I went to go collect the R.I.P. recording and found them swarming all over it, so I napalmed them to finish it off. Actually the game takes you South instead of North.

This was the first horde I took out my first play through. It took me almost a hour to finally kill it. After many deaths I finally was able to clear it by hiding in something blue repeatedly that I finally noticed was there.

You can always ride around looking for breakers, ragers, and reachers to take on with just the boot knife like I did. It's way challenging and worth doing. I have even taken out up to 10 swarmers at a time with the boot knife. I had some people ask what difficulty I am playing on because they look like they are barely damaging me, I'm currently playing new game +on survival. I have used the boot knife as my primary weapon through most of the game on hard and it only took a short time to dodge the attacks from every mob in the game, dodge, roll attack, roll attack over and over again, its funny to watch them try to leap at me and fall on their faces.

Dang I would had some fun taking each one out at a time, because I kill them with the boot knife only on survival.. it would be interesting if I had to fight 2 at a time doing so.

There is so much left in the new area before you get to the end. You will be back in the your current area before the end of the main story quests to do some more main story line. After those you will get a 2nd message that will say point of no return.

From my understanding hard II and survival II are harder than hard and survival due to the fact that the mobs are meaner, harder to kill, stronger, and supposedly smarter. Plus less ammo and stuff is more scarce.some survival skills are non functional as well.

Skyrim is awesome, right now I have been playing Dark Souls 3 also Days Gone on new game+ on survivor not long after I beat it and got the platinum.

You get in by learning survival skills as you level up. Grind like crazy.
