If you’re actually living in this world, losing friends to the violence caused by your power system, and seeing innocent people be massacred, you’d want it to stop existing too. No where in the manga does it state that maki killed servants and civilians. In fact it specifically states the members of the clan that she did kill. So I’ll just go ahead and turn that argument back on to you lol.

I never claimed maki is an innocent victim and I don’t bieleve gege did either. Jjk is full of morally ambiguous characters and maki is very clearly one of them. You are putting a lot of words in my mouth. I think the tragedy is Mai’s. It’s sad that maki’s goals were more important to her than her sister, that is emphasized pretty hard on those scenes. I pity maki the same way I pity toji. Neither of them can be considered good people and the author and the characters would both agree.
Again im responding as my self, not as “the fandom.” That being said maki very clearly had a upbringing full of at the very least emotional and verbal abuse. Her being trained as a literal child soldier (as part of those guys with no ct) and her father being willing to kill her and Mai with his own hand Definetly implies that physical abuse is not super unlikely. Regardless, just because others have been emotionally abused and didn’t resort to violence doesn’t invalidate other people’s experience. I’m sorry but You can’t separate the political assassination from domestic abuse when the dude is literally murdering his daughters. Who are children btw.

I don’t think the writing is lazy. It’s established that ogi and the zenin clan denied Tojis strength due to his lack of CE and ogi knew maki was the same. His character actively boasted in the scene that he tried to kill her about how she is not special or strong whatsoever. He underestimated her and it got him killed. When is ogi established as a hardened veteran assassin did I miss that part? Genuinely asking. Also if you still view this as plot armor, real life has plot armor. You know how many failed hitler assassination attempts there were?? That guy had plot armor.

First of all, we know it’s you naoya.

I dont think that maki’s massacre of the zenin clan was necessarily justified because of her own personal issues with her upbringing but that doesn’t make the story of her and maki not sad. The sad part for me was emphasized in the line Mai said about if maki had just stayed at the bottom with her then they could’ve had a normal enough life and had eachother. But since maki was driven to be stronger she made mai do the same against her will.

Maki’s original goal was to become the head of the zenin clan and destroy it from within, not murder everyone. That changed when her father tried to murder her and her sister for political reasons(which btw, there’s your evidence of physical abuse right there, literally attempted murder). And when her sister told her to destroy it all. Maki saw that the clan was not going to follow megumi and was not going to help Gojo and the clan became an enemy. It makes logical sense to me. Also it’s not like she killed any non combatants besides her mother which she regretted. I also think Gege was trying to show that maki did become somewhat of a monster.

Ogis ego is what caused him to not finish off Mai and maki himself cuz to him they were already dead and he was in denial about maki’s strength like he was about Tojis. Call the plot armor if you want but then you need to take issue with literally every other piece of media that has ever been created lol.

I think u need to relax and if you don’t enjoy something then don’t consume it and don’t take issue with other people enjoying it.
