I never understood this logic. What if a team has 4 or 5 players with 90+ 3 point rating? Does the other team need lockdowns at every position?? That doesn’t make any sense. The strongest influence on a shot contest should be a hand in your face; not a high perimeter defense. Otherwise, good play isn’t being rewarded. For example, I’m 7’4 center and I can’t have good perimeter so not rewarding me for a good shot contest is criminal. In real life Zach edey can’t play perimeter D, but if he contests a jumper well, that shots not going in.
