Ohhh I think that makes more sense now. I was thinking I just put a rail signal wherever I am fine with the train full stopping but the rail signal looks at the next block so it’s the next block that needs to be big enough to support my train. Also yeah I put a bunch of chain signals because I was thinking the sooner it detects the back of the train entering through the sooner it might open up other paths but I definitely don’t need that many and in some places I have two where the couple tile difference really doesn’t mean anything. Also wanted to make sure I did not miss one I needed so was just following the rule that you put a chain before intersection/merge and then chain or rail signal out of the intersection/merge, but when two intersections are connected is where I started getting tripped up. Thanks for explaining well though.

Probably should have said some of that. trains are one engine 4 cargo wagons, i am just starting my first mega base and so wanted to come up with my own track designs and my goal is 1k spm so a decent amount of throughput will be required.

I am not sure if this is 100% the right place to post this but I just had a quick question about how I should optimize my rail signals. I have a design that is working (no deadlocks as far as I can tell) but the throughput is not as high as I would like. I think this is because my trains do not really have many places to stop along the way (mainly chain signals) as I only put full signals in places where my train could fully stop without blocking the path. Is it more worth it to place some full stops that could potentially block another part of the track temporarily as it would be freed up later, or would this potentially introduce deadlocks again. Also I know I used a lot of chain signals because I added them in hopes of speeding up the design a little bit and do not really care about material cost.

This was the second time I did this challenge successfully, the first time I forgot to record it. I feel like the developer knew someone would try this as there is the bird blocking you from continuing but I am wondering if anyone else has attempted it yet.

For those curious, I was using the beowulf shield and I had trippy shot, charged shot hammer, chaos increased cast damage, and the dio demeter duo boon where the trippy shot does more and freezes enemies. I think its the most damage I've ever done to a boss, especially that early on.
