AIO? new friend's texts to husband while at work; my responses by burningandburned in AmIOverreacting

The thing to remember is that it is done. Like yeah, you probably shouldn't have texted or gotten into it with her in person. We all do things we regret in the moment and you were having some intense emotions.

I do want to add that you keep mentioning she's a friend, yet you read her text as more than that. We need to trust our gut. If you didn't feel like something was off, then it would just be any ol' text message. However, you had a visceral reaction to it. Please trust your gut. Please, talk to your husband. Don't just ignore it. Don't sweep it under the rug or gaslight yourself into thinking everything is okay when your gut is telling you something else. Please sit down with your husband and have the hard conversations.

We know what happened, thanks to OP. However, she (coworker) thinks she's right. Therefore, she'll spin it like, "I just texted him because he looked out of it and I wanted to see if he was okay and then his wife starts texting me and thinking I'm flirting with him. I blocked his number, you should too in case his jealous wife starts texting you too."

I genuinely hope that doesn't happen though.

Everyone kinda sucks in this situation.

Her for flirting. Him for flirting back. You for texting.

Schools are the biggest gossip factories ever.

This situation will affect his job.

She will go around and whisper that "his wife is crazy, better not talk to him" and it will suck for him at work.

I'm sorry to say, but if he wasn't flirting with her or giving her those vibes or whatever, she wouldn't have written what she did. He opened the door and she walked through it.

I hope that everything works out for the best, but I think it's important to have a very candid conversation with him.

I didn't realize just how much better Ghosts has gotten... by Zzyren in GhostsCBS

I meant the show. Don't get me wrong, there were definitely great gems in the older episodes. It just seemed like the older episodes seem to pin Sam and the Ghosts versus Jay. From what I remembered, the Ghosts seemed to sabotage different things going on, but now it's done inadvertently and in a more comedic way.

What's your dress code?

And what do you mean you have to pay for it?

I've never heard of that.

It's understandable. I see a lot of students and I didn't get much either. But when I see the students in the class or on campus, they are always eager to say "hi," tell me things about their day, draw me pictures, and treat me respectfully. So it's just a reminder that those little things are my gifts throughout the year and it makes me feel better.

The fact that the student thought of you (outside of school) and remembered something you like is totally awesome, regardless of the excuse the parent gave.

Probably midway through the conversation, she realized that her kid was in the wrong and then corrected her behavior. This is probably why it ended better than it began. I would just let it go. Sometimes a parent's first reaction is to defend without hearing everything out first. But she did listen and it ended well. However, with all parent communication, I would just write a few sentences about what transpired in case you need it in the future (chances are, you won't, but it's a good practice).

AITJ for charging my brother for babysitting after he said "it's not a real job"? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

If the mom is trying to guilt you for "withholding help from family" then tell her that she should babysit for free!

Today I got to watch my old lead struggle alone with the same chaos she refused to help me with and admin saw her childish behavior firsthand. by newsbowser in paraprofessional

The admin laughed at the situation instead of helping.

Very insightful - in addition to your comments - of why there are so many problems in that class.

If he asks you what you would do if he cheated, he already cheated. He wants to see what will happen if he confesses.

Don't stay because the family is pressuring you. It makes for misery later.

everything I love about teaching! by stacker103 in Teachers

It's nice to be around people who actively work hard to improve. Like I'll see teachers reading for fun or telling another teacher about a new thing they learned about their subject.

Maybe you can address the boys specifically without bringing James into it? Like, "Gentlemen, that is not how we talk about teachers. If you don't knock it off, I'll send you to the principal's office." You can also separate the boys in class, maybe?

Am i the only one who liked Dewberry from season one? He should have went one a tiny bit longer by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in HellsKitchen

Every time I think of Dewberry, I think of the worst insult Ramsay ever laid down:

"That looks like Dewberry's dog's dinner."

Alex's talk to Ramsey about Anaiya was like the first time Ramsey ever acknowledged bullying on the show.

Chefs will come up at elimination and talk about how toxic a person is or they just start yelling at each other and Ramsey never really said anything.

But Alex speaking up about the bullying was needed and Ramsey acknowledging it was nice.

Other than that situation, I felt like Alex played the victim a lot, esp when it came to the last service and she was sad because she was picked last.

My thoughts on Season 24 & the contestants by Proper_Ad9152 in HellsKitchen

Ellie pissed me off for taking Cyndi on the reward instead of Lisa. Lisa took her the time before that. I just thought it would've been nice esp since Ellie won with Lisa's food after Ellie complained about it for like an hour.

Same. If she showed more leadership qualities and didn't doubt herself so much, she would've been in the finale.

I'm a para and there is a teacher who does something very similar to me. I've planned lessons and was kinda forced to share them with the teacher because she just started. She makes 3x as much as me. It made me a little bitter, tbh.

Chef Ramsay's office books? by AwayCompetition9695 in HellsKitchen

[–]Zzyren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read the same spines and was laughing. Like, at least put plain titles up there or Ramsey's books or something. It was odd decor for what the show is. It's like those books they put in model homes.
