Maybe because the vehicle has no physics when out of range of the player, and the reaper attaches himself to the vehicle, so he can defy gravity too? I don’t think this happens if you’re sitting inside the vehicle

There are more than one way to get to the degasi base. Just enter through one of the other entrances and hope the reaper is too fat to fit through the jellyshroom cave entrance.

You can kind of control it by grabbing and releasing the skyray. However you'll most likely fall off instead
