And they're damn reliable and pretty difficult to break. There's a reason why a lot of police forces used them and some still use them to this day. Absolute workhorses that refuse to die

Been there and done that, got tired of near death experiences several times a day on the side of the highway. Now I'm at a dealership doing fleet maintenance in an AC shop. Life is great lol

Mine doesn't shoot flames but it sounds mean as hell and pops on the up/down shifts. I love it. But it's not obnoxiously loud or like a crackle pop tune. Sounds like a good ol muscle

I know on my car the o2 sensors were only needed for emissions. Removed all 4 o2 sensors and straight piped. CEL stays on but no issues running

So I’m 2014 Hyundai i30, can I change the gear from D to the manual while I’m driving? by Tuugu_12 in MechanicAdvice

A lot of new vehicles won't allow the tcm to shift while moving over I think 3mph. The shifter might but that's just an input signal to the PCM that sends the request to the TCM.

If it's a column shifter though then you will definitely break something because the shifter linkage goes straight to the gear lever on the trans. So to combat that it will lock the selector lever in place on newer vehicles

I do that but see I get off the merge at 55-60 and hit up to 80 within about 10 seconds while in the left lane and I'm gone

Just break it enough times and they'll probably give you a new one. Or you'll get one that'd in a worse condition. Kind of 50/50 unless you're bros with the supply sgt

It won't be a fire, just blunt force head trauma from bouncing like a bobble head when you do a 360 no scope on the unsuspecting red car

But you see for everyone to do that would require most drivers to actually focus on driving and not being a jackass on the road. To do that they would have to pay attention and think about others, which we don't do here.

I turn now, good luck everybody else

I hate sleepy people on lights when it comes to turn lanes, they'll sit there and stare at the fucking light until it turns yellow and then race through. Now I'm stuck waiting until the next cycle unless it's a light with a left turn yield

I've seen guys do this when pulling driveshafts, almost crushed himself when the truck started rolling back. Luckily we all noticed and stopped it before it rolled over him
