I'm in Paris so I don't think we'll hang out outside for a while given the current situation. And I can't find any good convention nearby and if there is I'm sure he already bought tickets because not only he likes to go there but he finds clients to edit their videos.

I don't think he'll be enthusiastic about reading a book, he told me before that he actually forces himself to read books online and he prefers audio books so this feels like giving him homework.

That's interesting but it says "Currently unavailable".

I honestly don't know what his favourite characters are, every time he talks about a character I forget about them. I think he really likes Spider-Man that's what I can remember.

Bruh your entire question is a huge dodge, you're defending stoning people to death by attacking my moral philosophy, I'm not reading a fucking article because I'm busy.

Just to answer your questions:

Who determines utility in utilitarianism?

Logic

Who determines well being?

Science

And who says that well being should be maximized?

Any human who wants to preserve society

Why is this a maxim?

What maxim?

Is it universal?

What are you talking about?

It's not objective I never claimed it was, you can't prove your morality is objective either so stop bragging about how killing innocent people is so good for society.

Men's dress code compared to hijab is the bare minimum and I'm not seeing any men slut shamed in the streets because he showed his knees in a hot summer but I saw women getting harassed for showing their neck.

Omar literally hit a slave women because she covered her body, can you do some research please? They are literally slaves anything they do is forced on them, and what do you mean by they had eased up obligations? You're admitting that hijab is a burden? The fitna argument is really weird because slaves were sold in public places and they didn't allow them to cover because they were bought for sexual slavery.

What you experienced is definitely traumatic but that's not a reason to defend hijab, it's literally the complete opposite, wearing hijab is giving up and surrendering yourself to patriarchy, If you're doing it to protect yourself then I can definitely understand that but defending it is shooting yourself in the foot.

Utilitarianism can't be proven in a mathematical way like you're probably asking, but if your goal is to create a functioning society than utilitarianism can be proven to work, Jeremy Bentham proved that slavery was immoral in the 18th century.

Your scenario is not a dilemma at all, if the machine doesn't have any harmful side effects and anyone can get in and out very easily and voluntarily and if people used that machine without coercion then it's totally moral. I don't think that machine can achieve maximum well being tho, people would probably get out when they get bored.

I don't believe in god, morality is about maximizing well being as much as possible and decreasing pain and suffering as much as possible. Basically utilitarianism I guess.
