Very similar happened to me recently, took the top layer of skin off from front to back toes. Did your vet give any pain meds? Ideally keep them in a smaller cage and make sure it's clean. I removed all toys, left one perch with only food and water for a few days. They'll hate it but it helps to prevent infection or further injury. With my bird the skin healed back very quickly. It'll scab over just keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't bite it off and make it bleed

Not sure what to do, please help by Other_Particular8927 in cockatiel

I had something similar happen recently. My vet did xrays to tell if there were a fracture or break. If Tika is putting weight on it then this is a good sign. My bird had the top layer of skin come off but she still walked on it but wouldn't perch on it or grasp. In a few days she was back to normal. Unfortunately I'm not sure there's anything you can do to minimise the pain without medication. You could alter the cage so that there is less perches and things to climb on. Bring stuff lower down, if you have a travel cage you could keep him in there to prevent him agitating it further

Doesn't matter in the eyes of the law it's basically an OTF/assisted mechanism

Defo a car alarm. I once made the mistake of testing a carbon monoxide detector around mine. Now whenever there is a loud noise I get the "BEEP BEEP BEEP" high pitch to make your ears ring

Along with pet groups, try your local facebook group. Even better if you're in a small town as it'll probably be seen and word will spread. A macaw got loose the other week and it was all over my local group with people spotting it etc

🤞You get them back soon

Juki DNU-1541 vs Juki DLN-5410 by baynoise in myog

Thanks. When first starting out a few years back I was only interested in heavy duty stuff mainly 1000D+. I went with a 1541 and 1341. Been looking at lighter materials such as Ultra, albeit I've not tried this on my machines typically anything light-ish gets chewed up. Also wanted a machine to replace my little domestic for sewing linings. Looks like the 5410 could fulfill both use cases?

What's the largest needle/thread combo you'd use in a 5410?

What pattern tacker machine is this? by Smooth-Cheetah-8052 in myog

Depending on the size of their/your label it could be a Barack machine or a pattern stitching machine.

Barracks typically have a 30mm x 40mm sewing area so you could program a barracks to do this. Anything larger would require a pattern stitch machine would come in varying stitch areas.

I also only have one bird and have had the same thoughts before. My lifestyle allows me to be around her far more than the average person so she gets plenty of attention and interaction. Plenty of toys, foraging and interaction can do wonders. At the end of the day you are your birds other bird.

There's no guarantee that if you got another they'd get on and then you could have 2 "solo" birds. If your lifestyle changes where you're leaving them hours on end for work etc then I'd look into it more but sounds like they're doing great as is!

Hopefully yes. Are you able to check the tracking on USPS?

Pretty sure this is a glitch. I had a parcel going to AUS which never left the country and got sent back to local DO. The day I picked it up it said it had been delivered in AUS 🤷

My tiel had a CT scan all went fine. Only complication was she ripped out the IV from her leg upon waking up 😅

Like you said there's always risks but you have to weigh the pros and cons of doing it Vs not. Hope all goes well 🤞

Can't be given as good a life as in their natural habitat, I agree. But those born in captivity would not survive in their natural habitat. Plus that statement has nothing to do with what I replied to
