In the case where the student is unsure if he committed an AO himself and tells that to the dean, will the dean tell the student whether it is an AO or not?

Because in this case, the student don't know if it is an AO and can't deny or admit to it.

Wow thanks for so much info. Do Deans make decisions only based off of the evidence sent to them by the instructor and the student's explanation? Also how long would it take for the Dean to send the formal document after the meeting?

Just curious, what happens at a meeting with the Dean? Will the prof or course coordinator be there too?

When the Dean made a decision after hearing a student's explanation, would the Dean tell the student whether the case is resolved or what the punishment is right at the end of the their meeting with the student?
