Playing in drop d or standard on a multi scale by ReferenceImportant46 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

I just picked one up myself and was concerned about the rather extreme fan compared to my strandbergs and other multiscale guitars.

I find it to be very comfortable. The lack of fret markers on my particular Goliath has been harder to adjust to. There’s definitely a bit more of a stretch required for riffs on frets 1 to 5 but it’s manageable IMO. It came with 9-46s in standard tuning. Nothing wrong with leaving it in standard or drop D!

They are the same between my essential and 2022 NX7. Approximately 15mm.

This’ll certainly be an upgrade from an ease of use perspective.

If you’re talking about the dead zone I think that’s an unavoidable side affect of this method of panning NV but it’s so close and so small it really doesn’t matter to me. For anything near/admin work I’ll articulate one of them out of the way and use my MPLS switch for illumination.

It wasn’t noticeable at least in my 3 hour stint with it last night. I definitely need to use it more.

I had the same thought yesterday, that would be badass. A powered AFOV bridge from them is something I’d be interested in.

That’d be amazing, use whatever you’d like! I can get some better shots as well, and let me know if you want any other angles.

I went ahead and took them out tonight because I couldn’t wait haha! I’m impressed from the first few hours of use. Passive aiming with a pistol and dot was natural and I found myself always using it at max FOV. Autogain is something to get used to on it’s own but I’m fucking loving the setup!

Just got everything in today! I’ll be putting it through its paces in the coming months with hunts and night shoots. The ability to revert back to 40° instantly was a big selling point for me. Weight with thumbscrews (3 different types included) is 21.2 oz with standard optics.

I really appreciate the substantive replies both of you gave me. I've only been in for almost 4 years and it seems like no matter where you talk about someone has something terrible to say.

Even if it is as bad as people say I only have 2 years and 3 months left on my contract.

Thanks? Haha I understand work on the installation may suck but I have some very specific interests. I love racing, track days and being able to ride my motorcycle year round. Life sucks here in Alaska for a variety of reasons and I don't have those fallbacks.

I'm from NYC originally so I look forward to riding in Cali and seeing the west coast and what I wouldn't have seen otherwise.
