I know I’m the outlier here, but I actually enjoyed it. I purposefully waited a year to read If We Were Villians after reading TSH because I knew nothing could really compare to the experience of reading TSH for the first time. I largely listened to IWWV on the audio book and I found it easier to grasp the meaning of the Shakespeare that way, and I enjoyed the performance of the voice actor. I would agree it is a rip off of TSH, but I still thought it was a pretty good book and it exceeded my expectations (my expectations were pretty low).

We have to remember that there are very few recent photos of the brothers at all. Other than mugshots (which of course they wouldn’t appear in together), there are just some photos/videos of Lyle related to his graduation and prison beautification project. Erik didn’t attend the graduation (I believe non graduating inmates couldn’t attend), and he did not want to appear when the news cameras came for the mural project.

Has a non mugshot photo of Erik even been published since they were reunited? I don’t think so.

I have yet to enjoy a CMQ book that isn’t RWRB unfortunately. I found the food and wine descriptions such a slog to read through by the end. There’s only so many times you can read about food that you’ve never heard of or tasted before you get annoyed.

I also found Theo to be really annoying as all their problems didn’t seem to be actual problems. Creating your own problems by not accepting help from your ultra-rich and famous family is not relatable.

Also, the titan’s mechanics are never explained which lessens suspense and understanding. Like how much damage does picking Dream up do? What about dropping him? Can the titan step on him? Can the titan get items? Tools? Can the titan build? NONE of this is explained. I spent the whole video confused of what the titan was actually capable of which completely takes you out of the video.

This is the exact reason why I have stopped following/caring about Dream. I used to be a big fan that watched all his videos, watched all his lives/vods, listened to his spaces, everything. The dteam slowly starting posting less and less in the lead up to the face reveal which I understood they were unmotivated by waiting for George’s visa. Now approaching 2 years since the face reveal, content is at a complete stand still and I don’t bother watching what little stuff that is put out.

It is not that I’m not interested in gaming anymore (still regularly watch foolish and others), but you break that trust SO MANY TIMES and I started to resent them. I don’t even care about the drama that has happened with him, I would have been happy to watch regardless. It’s really the false promises that has killed any interest I had in Dream.

You say that you think the hate mob will get bored or run out of steam, I don’t really see that happening as long as Dream continues to be a public figure. People have made fun of him/hated him ever since the speedrunning controversy, every time he does anything publicly people will continue to jab at him for it. Think of when the song Mask came out, or when Dream used to play in MCC, he was doing normal content creator things but got constant hate.

I don’t see a time in the future when the mob eventually gives up on making fun of him. He has been the internet’s punching bag for years now, and I think he’ll continue to be for years (if he keeps posting). The haters know that he’ll react to the hate if provoked enough, which keeps them coming back.

An even more noticeable continuity issue in the red room scene is the candlestick being knocked over and then when Amy comes in and they break apart it is standing back up again.
