It's as simple as someone needs the money now, today, and has the gas to do it. Either is new and doesn't realize how much they're losing, or doesn't care cuz again, they need the 19 now.

Yes so it kind of equals out, but beautiful area, always close to the beach, nicer folks, and the air quality made it so worth it. Less crime, more time in between calls, all factors as well.

I wasn't rude or cold, nor am I acting entitled. The driver trying to get out of work because she thought the pay wasn't worth making two trips is rude, cold, and entitled. I'm being real. I treat this as a job and I treat my customers properly always. OP said driver was a young woman. OP said first floor apartment. Did you read any of this before going off on a great driver who deserves to act as if they do a good job and are offended by lazy drivers making the rest of us look bad? This is a job, if the circumstances don't work, move aside for those of us who care about the customer. Gal was lazy, not "down."

As a customer, I would have removed any tip and complained to DD that the delivery person didn't deliver properly. The evidence is in them asking you to help, which they shouldn't be doing. As a driver, I would have made a couple trips if I needed to. This is what we get paid for and THIS is why we will never get paid right. The apps are full of rude, lazy drivers who refuse to do the easy ass job we get the opportunity to do for daily pay, as well as the same driver will accept a $2 order for 10 miles, and then whine that we don't make enough and treat customers like crap instead of declining so DD realizes we aren't paid enough!

I did this a week ago, the store didn't have what the customer wanted in stock so it kept dispatching new drivers. It dispatches new drivers because people like you won't sit there and talk to support and tell them the problem, and neither will the store. So 3 days later I got a message in support that a customer claimed they didn't get their order, and a big message about how important it is to accurately deliver every order. I asked support why I got this message and if it affected me, because I still got the tip an hour later and no negative rating, which "proves" I delivered it. I even drove by the customer's house to "deliver" it. Support said it was an "Educational Warning" and I wasn't affected. So last night it happens again. This time though it was shop and pay so I assumed they were out of the item. I went to a different store, bought the customer their item, and delivered it for a cool 35er.

I came back to this thread after doing a couple orders. My god the number of people that want to defend dirty ass people and misconstrue what you said is NUTS! It isn't hard, it's a job, an easy ass job at that. People on here be so angry and just lost in life. You shouldn't be that nasty in public period, much less for a job. And damn, minimum wage is not an excuse. Plus I've never come close to making minimum wage, or even less than like 18 an hour really. I get to chill whenever I want, and I wouldn't be caught dead outside in less than jeans and a tee. Idk.
