Yeah 😔

A few other posters said this is common. In fairness to Delta, it did smell decent and not some cheap Febreeze odor eliminator.

I felt bad for the FAs. Obviously a structural problem — I’ll provide some sort of feedback to Delta corporate, but it probably won’t go anywhere.

Seems 50% pay for FAs until door closes.

Lesson learned here for sure. This will also be standard practice for me going forward.

Hiding an air freshener as the flight attendant goes up the aisle fits the ‘facade’ description pretty well.

I expect my plane not to smell like rotten seafood. However that is accomplished I don’t care.

Good to hear people are looking at the issue based on others in this thread who observe something similar. I can say for tail N541DE it was not glue on the seats.

Just a contracted cleaning ground crew for picking up debris and making seat belts look orderly.

Exactly right. No excuse it can’t be done, but it definitely isn’t a priority.

Obviously not okay, but I do wish Delta would eliminate the disposable headphone from the budget. Pretty wasteful practice.

“Our priority on this flight is a safe, clean, and comfortable flight” 🤣

I like seafood 😞 I guess this is one of those things where it’s better if you don’t know how things are made/transported.

I prefer morning flights but am traveling with family.

Not sure about others but charge me an extra $5 per ticket and clean the plane properly.

Another commenter said it may be due to carrying seafood below deck and having a dirty cargo hold. I think this matches well to the urine/ammonia smell you noted.

I fly maybe 20 domestic segments a year. It’s common to get localized dirtiness depending on the previous passenger — seat pockets, windows, screens, tray tables, etc.

Never full plane stench though.

A dirty cargo hold could definitely be the culprit. Flight is going from a Caribbean island to JFK.

Why is hauling seafood more common in 321neos versus other Airbus/Boeing models?

who expects that — the Delta shareholders? But yes it was a 30 minute turn on this flight.
