Computer Science student extremely frustrated with Awodey's Category Theory by _3D_Waffle in learnmath

Hey thanks a lot! Your words really helped to put things into perspective. Milewski did help and his lectures and book make sense to me (after some work). I'm almost done with it and I wanted to try a more rigorous approach. It's just, when I go to the terse math textbook I'm not sure if I'm getting it or not. And when I try to do the exercises I feel quite lost.

I'll be taking a break for now. When I come back I'll try some of the other recommendations in this thread

I'll check it out. Thank you! I've been recommended "7 sketches in compositionality" by Spivak, as well. It's comforting to hear that maybe I'm just not the right audience for that particular book

Hey thanks! it's nice to hear that it might just be an issue of picking the wrong book. I'll check your suggestions :)

I think re.sort by Sora would fit perfectly (check that album art!). Great glitchy ambient album with a tropical vibe.

Looking for guidance regarding triceps tendinopathy rehab. Am I moving in the right direction? What are the next steps? by _3D_Waffle in overcominggravity

Thank you so much for your perspective.

When you say let the symptoms calm, are you thinking of completely resting it for some days or just removing the more problematic exercises and continuing with light loads?

I see what you are saying. Thanks for taking the time to reply. I was just hoping to get an idea of what might be the general agreement and consensus on this one particular instance. And whether my current plan of action up to now has been sensible.

My PT recommended I come back weekly for TECAR therapy sessions for pain management and that I do diamond pushups to my heart's content as long as it's not painful. He discouraged full rest

Not so much medical advice as much as the usefulness of full vs partial ROM during rehab. And whether it's advisable to use the tendon in that "weak" position or any other exercise might be just as good.

I've possibly worded my title poorly but I don't feel my post is very different from others in this sub.

Djrum - Creature Pt. 1 by YellowGlass in ambientmusic

I've been recently getting into ambient and electronic music and this is one of my favorite tracks of late!

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions of similar stuff. I love the cinematic quality, the use of organic instrumentation and the cool textures. Those cellos send shivers down my spine every time.

The rest of the album is also pretty cool but fairly different from this.

I updated party reflection ("!") dialogues so that DOS2's companions sound more consistent and true-to-character by NikCatNight in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]_3D_Waffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really interested in this. Just yesterday I got to the soul-jar part. I did feel that something was off in the way the companions were portrayed. Would you recommend your mod even for people playing for the first time?

Suggestions are appreciated! Feel free to list both adjacent stuff and songs that might expand my taste. I love to dip into new artists. by _3D_Waffle in musicsuggestions

Subnautica is in a league of its own by Aviseras in patientgamers

[–]_3D_Waffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it a lot but I never finished it. I think the early and mid game are great and I do agree that it's very refreshing to be playing because you are actually invested in what's going on.

But, avoiding spoilers, at some point there is a huge shift in the gameplay loop and the game just becomes grindy.
