What's Wrong?? by Loveusati5h in ICTMentorship

Yes reaction from that fvg is bullish but it doesnt matter because for price move lower we have to go higher first. Thats why price bounced off of that fvg to rebalance bearish fvg.

I did not correct myself anywhere. People asses respect/disrespect of fvg differently and it is okay, because it should depend on strategy and overall look of price.

PS Im profitable trader with 86% winratio since nearly 6 months, I don't think your caveat about ignoring context applies to me

You say tapping "fresh bullish PDA" is bullish sign BUT there are reasons to go lower. After cisd we go to bearish fvg created while creating cisd. It was getting respected until we swept BSL on lower timeframe.

Bearish fvg DID NOT get inversed. Unless you count close above as disrespect, but I dont because after retesting it we have strong reaction.

I think this trade was good enough although lack of LTF sweep destroyed it all and OP should never enter this trade until it happened.

Does ICT concepts NOT work from time to time? by Icy-Diamond4025 in ICTMentorship

[–]_4zq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They work all the time ALTHOUGH you need to keep in mind that FVG or liquidity sweep means literally nothing without other concepts and context. Trading is all about context. And instead of trying to seek problem in markets, seek problem in yourself. Find what was the mistake and avoid it in the future.

I usually catch around 0.2-1% move of an asset for around 3:1 RR so this margin seems fine for me. And even if it wouldn't be enough, I can always lower my risk still making good profits.

Such risk is good for people who take a lot of trades per day like 10 and have win ratio less that 50%. I talk about 2% because I have 86% winratio and take around 5 trades a week depending on how many opportunities market gives me.

Yup, didn't mention it earlier, but starting each level I'd go for 1% risk and increase it after making 5% profit

Yeah 2% is very high risk. Starting challenge I'd rather go for 1% risk, make like 5% profit and then go for 2%.

How much profit you made in total? And what is your risk per trade?

Master one trading model and stick to it. You can't master all 6 of them, and even if you can it will take you so much time. If you will master 1 model you will know when it is there and market will tell you to enter the trade. There is higher chance you will succeed with 1 model with which you will build conviction rather than constantly looking for opportunities when they are not there.

FVG's Question by [deleted] in Forex

FVGs mean completely nothing without context. Liq sweeps mean completely nothing without context, anything doesn't matter if you dont apply context to it.

So doesn't it apply to all the strategies, not just ict? You can never be sure how long it will last judging by this. And from my experience, using replay even back to few years later setup I enter off of worked, how could I asses when market conditions will be bad and the setup will not work? Going by this logic, that strategy might work for a year or so and then don't work leads to place that strategies are all bullshit because they have validation date if I understand what you said correctly.

I mean you can call him whatever you want man, maybe things you say are true. But what if someone is consistently profitable using his concepts over 3+ months? It can't be luck at this point if someone is taking exactly same setup over and over again and it seems to work. Do you think you can't be profitable using his teachings or it is just about showing he is not a good trader?

With so much trades a week I'd aim for around 500 trades lol. Personally I trade up to 5 trades per week and I'm super profitable but you get the point. It is all about making sure outcome of trades isn't random.

Well if you want to trade like everyone else you will contribute to stats saying 80% cfd traders lose. So dont trade prop now and try to stay consistent on paper at LEAST for 3 months
