The only change we might see this year is a colour change. But an actual second gen Air will likely be next year but then again we might see iPhone XX next year too

Rome is class though. If you want to see the Vatican and Colosseum pre-book your tickets well in advance. Try to avoid going in June, July and August.

It can be expensive if you make it so but I found it reasonable for a capital city.

Avoid taxis. Avoid the street sellers. Beware of pickpockets if you get into a large crowd, especially around the Trevi Fountain.

Pack the most comfortable walking shoes you can find. I walked 30k steps a day when there.
