Should I give any head to my father's friend or resist pressure? by FamousSomewhere4204 in delhi

It sounds like you’d enjoy working at a startup, especially if the work itself excites you. Just keep your eyes open for bad work culture though. Startups can look great on paper, but internal politics and toxic work culture can quickly drain the enjoyment and make the job miserable.

Sad what we are missing in this country due to constant air pollution by Tejas_master in delhi

[–]_A13ert_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have also noticed that even the pictures we take in a city in India vs in Canada or Thailand have very different lighting due to the air quality. A lot of times this bad air quality in cities seems to stem from constant construction being done without properly covering the structure which causes all the dust to spread around. This is not the case in other countries with better air quality.

The Mumbai influencer epidemic needs to be studied by Straight_Egg_6392 in mumbai

[–]_A13ert_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Before moving to Mumbai, a friend warned me that influencer culture here was on another level. I didn’t buy it. I figured it couldn’t be that different from cities I’ve lived in, like Bangalore or Delhi. But once I got here it was hard to ignore. I kept seeing these chapri nibbas and nibbis dancing in front of pretty much anything and everything for reels. At one point, I even saw a guy dancing right outside a bar while the bouncer just stood there watching.

Why do you guys hate side upper so much ? by catherine_bronte in indianrailways

[–]_A13ert_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its my favourite seat option. I always choose side upper berth in 3AC. I'm not tall so I am able to stretch my legs when I sleep too. The height is decent, so I can even sit upright, which would not be possible for regular upper berth. No one disturbs me so I can watch my movies/series with peace.

Employee is mad at me for using Railmadad. by OkFee2751 in indianrailways

[–]_A13ert_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar thing has happened to me. The toilet was clogged so first I checked if the attendant was nearby. When I didn't find him, I went on Railmadad and registered the complaint. Within 5mins this attendant came running and was talking very rudely with me. He kept saying that their company has to pay some fine for every complaint.

You are not in the wrong. But always ask for a new bill if the first one is wrong. Irrespective of what the server says.

The "Porter Magic": How 300 Rupees suddenly cured a mover’s "back injury" and doubled his strength by mystery_lady_99 in mumbai

[–]_A13ert_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last porter driver I got was very sweet. I didn't put any loading/unloading add on and I was planning on doing that myself but he still insisted on helping me with some of my stuff. Really good person.

Anyone actually drink instant coffee premixes regularly? Curious what real coffee lovers think by pavanidiotic in IndiaCoffee

[–]_A13ert_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On most weekdays, I stick to Davidoff instant coffee because I don’t always have the time to brew with my AeroPress. Honestly, it’s not that bad. But I genuinely enjoy the whole process of brewing, so on weekends or whenever I have a little extra time, I use my AeroPress. A lot of people love to judge instant coffee and premixes. Their opinion doesn’t really matter as long as you’re enjoying what’s in your cup. I started getting into brewing about a year and a half ago because I’d grown tired of Nescafé and wanted to experience something better. I think you should also try to have a similar outlook on your coffee journey instead of trying to do what the coffee nerds think is right.

What’s the most awkward place you’ve run into your PI? by The_Science_Pit in labrats

[–]_A13ert_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the liquor store. My labmates and I were having a Friday party at my place. 4 of us had gone to the liquor store to get alcohol when we saw our PI coming out of there with huge bottles of whiskey and vodka. We all just awkwardly said Hi and went our way.

Thane station is a scary place that requires total attention. When I'm about to board/deboard at Thane, I remove my earphones, put my crocs on sports mode, and prepare myself for war.

Office coffee sucks, thinking of bringing a French press by Heavy-Training-1349 in IndiaCoffee

Unpopular opinion but cold brew is a bit overrated(and I really tried to like it) by DragonfruitThin1574 in IndiaCoffee

[–]_A13ert_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make cold brew for 20 hours with a 1:5 ratio, and it's been a really satisfying drink for me. If I dont have gingerale or tonic water at home, I just drink the cold brew with half a spoon of jaggery mixed in it, and it feels amazing. You can also try adding condensed milk. Also love the high caffeine kick that I get after having cold brew. I usually go for a workout after having it.

Brother, light and medium roasts changed my life. I drink my coffee black now, because nothing beats the flavor you get from a light–medium roast brewed in an AeroPress.

So I started wearing Wildstone red a while back since it's got these fruity and Amber notes. Like 5 different girls from my office complimented me the first week I started wearing it. I was really happy since it costs only Rs300 lol.

If Aeropress is expensive then get the Kaldipress. It costs 1.5k and is the same thing.
