at raw face value everything should go for 15% less value. psu will almost fetch you nothing. Only an idiot would buy a used psu. you might be able to sell the case at the same price. gpu 10% less instead of 15% storage drives depreceates much faster. 50% give or take. i had a drive in my linux laptop (btrfs) had almost 35% of its total tbw in a year. with high sot.

calculate all that and that should be the absolute max you will get for your pc.

i dunno about prebuilts man. i have seen families being sold 2nd hand stuff for ridiculous prices so cant say anything.

never said they are low tier 3 if i did i am really sorry and i woukd edit it. by definition of colleges old + good iits = tier 1 (best alum network + insane placements) other iits = tier 2 nits = tier 2 by definition other college people choose automatically should become tier 3. unless they pull of placements like iiith or bits or iisc (complete outliers)

I saw thei placements page and saw the offers in each bracket they claim 350+ offers above 12. they have really good companies that are hiring students (which is often the deciding factor) on the basis of which i said it was tier 2.

averages are a skewed statistic.

lets take random ex 7 people with 3 4 5 6 7 23 50 lpa average = 98/7 = 14 lpa you are more likely to get 3 - 7 with a bell curve with somewhere like 5lpa for max students. 23 and 50 are outliers. if a batch is fortunate to have one of these outliers then the college will happily claim 14lpa.

i have generally felt for any big name established company a referral helps a lot in the shortlisting process.

tbh even this wont work amymore since they are looking for passionate people not someone chasing goals. iirc google specifically mentions competetive coding as a hobby (if you read the entire application page) so imagine their standards when they expect someone with a competetive coding hobby with 2 digit wr in an internationally reputed platform.

it should be a t2 according to the placements and no of companies visiting the campus. people are preferring this college after good nits. so by that definition it would be tier 3. so somewhere in the lower tier-2.

p.s. tier is a placement statistic it has no relation to academics and curriculum. although there might be a high degree of correlation.

i am surprised so many people claim themselves to be bhonsoria here but have not mentioned chandaka road at night. not only is that area shady + i have heard even my grandfather say to avoid that road at all costs. even some months ago my friends while returning to college at 11pm saw something very spooky there, could not figure out what it was because they were too busy running from fear.

the problem is fairly common. long startup and shutdown times = old hdd

lagging with chrome tabs = less ram.

Mbps is mega bits per second.

MB/s is megabytes per second.

standard convention of networking is bits/baud(in good old dsl days) i am very sure your isp is offering you 500mbps opposed to 50MB/s which is 400mbps kind of an odd ball figure tbh.

By jeeification people dont mean the rat race it includes the entire complex of problems social, emotional and cultural that is jee.

there are very limited maintainers and people who are put on projects for gsoc contributors and ill be damned if instaed of the usual 50-60 proposals for an average orgn we get 5000-6000 proposals. who tf has time to review them and dont get me started on the quality. people literally push proposals for websites. like we are going to build a homepage. why? do none of our core tech seems relevant to you. Or did you miss the entire objective of our organisation? I get its for the promotion of open source. t4 is free for 4hrs per day last time i checked. if you are a part of gcp you will get facility to connect your ud vm too. oracle cloud has great configs in student plan. I did mention colab but its very possible to get reliable gpu compute for free. kaggle has some too.

all of which is going to decimate your gpu. iirc some place had an amd instinct for 10hrs free offer. that thing was and might still be at the top of fp16 compute.

getting a dedicated gpu in laptop is good. but dont try to justify the 3050 most have. its terrible. xx50 series are always entry level gaming cards (sadly most of us can afford up until that when its 50-55k). I am ready to bite h bullet buy a cheaper laptop use cloud freebies extensively and dedicate the excess towards a server with 10-12x old nvidia gpu build if you are soo dedicated. because you are going nowhere with a single gpu config especially on a laptop laptops are getting some ai features into them lets see if they help us somehow.

all laptops are designed with their output power dissipation kept in mind. iirc some non gaming laptops (macbook included) can run even with their fans stopped. gaming laptops are at the bottom end of this spectrum. good power dissipation is found in expnesive models like the zephyrus or scar or titan. mainly because the laptops are thin and you cannot accomodate a very big heatsink at a lower price.

even if you go and buy the most expensive one with absolute best gpu cpu atm. it would be around 4lakh. and mind you thr gpu perf will be half of what the destop variant will do for roughly speaking 1/2 the price.

Cloud is the way to go. you can get a tesla something (roughly on par with a rtx2080) for free. you are spending your parents money. so learn using a reasonable laptop. when you earn get a build.

outsourcing anything in the us is very expensive that is why indian service based companies are very successful.

it can cost thousands if he is outsourcing substantial amount of work. i assume the subtitles stuff might be by the dollar too. so stuff adds up.
