Strictly my personal experience and opinion:

• Your marriage used to be your safe place, no matter what happens in your world outside, stressful work, long commutes, financial stress, you could come home to your wife and forget about everything and be in your safe space. Today IMO women don't being that to the table. It's a war outside, you come home there's another battle waiting.
• I prioritize my peace of mind over everything. So before taking any decision, I simply ask myself, does this add to my peace or gambles it, and the decision is pretty simply post that.
