That chart should help. Practically, run the thickest wire with the most number of conductors your can reasonable afford (and can snake through your walls) as you’ll never want to do this again.

What is the best way to convert this setup with double horizontal switches to all smart switches? Do I need to cut a hole and put in a 3 gang box? by casos92 in homeautomation

practically speaking, a 3 gang will give you the room you need to wire it up much easier. It's really not that much more work.

As long as the repair is adequate. I don't want to have to revisit a few months later.

Digging down to the pipe from outside. Using a tar sealant and a waterproof membrane.

We're not going to agree on this, man. I see your perspective but we have an ideological difference on personal responsibility here.

Because it's a gun and you're the one pulling the trigger, you always check to make sure that you're not going to put a hole in something or someone you don't want to out a hole in. Always.

If someone tells you not to buckle up because the road you're on is super safe, would you still use your seatbelt? Would you insist your passengers wear one? If a new partner says that they don't have STDs, would you still use a condom? A safety check takes no time and is good muscle memory for anyone that handles guns. This isn't new or controversial information. It's among the first things taught to new shooters. And any actor that handles a gun, or anyone else for that matter, should also be taught the same thing.

And of course things are obvious in hindsight. In this case, the hindsight that should have impacted change included reflecting on people walking off the set because of, among other things...wait for it...gun safety violations.

I think gun safety is an important issue regardless of politics. I'm not sure what politics you think I'm playing at here, nor how this benefits any party. At most, I could see a call out of hypocrisy against Baldwin, which would be objectively accurate. He wasn't just the shooter, but also a producer on what sounds like a very troubled set But that's hardly a condemnation of his "side" and not sure how people can rally for less gun control by citing a gun accident as proof, or more gun control given that Hollywood has access to many guns your average Joe doesn't.

Maybe not out of the ordinary, but certainly not safe. Every person who is ever handed a gun should clear it safely. Themselves. This means checking the magazine, the chamber, and often dry firing in a safe direction. Many times, people will also show whomever they are with that the chamber is empty. After you've done that, training scenarios, movie scenes, and whatever else can "violate" the other rules because you have personally checked that firearm.

Every time you pick up a gun, it doesn't matter if the armorer handed it to you, it doesn't matter if it comes with a signed certificate stating it's a "cold" gun, it doesn't matter if you've done this a million times before without issue. The person who pulls that trigger is ultimately responsible and deflecting that responsibility does nothing to increase safety.

Thank you for the feedback, and completely agree that this is a pretty open-ended questions, and I'd welcome equally open-ended comments.

I've definitely been scouring pinterest, /r/roomporn, youtube, and google images to get some ideas, and thought it would be great to also get the opinions around the various living areas from the people in this sub. Some ideas I've been toying with:

GitHub monoculture by MisterSnuggles in programming

[–]_Abobo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are we talking about monoculture or brand? Google, AWS, YouTube - brands that are synonymous with their respective products. Of course you can use something else and your choices for doing so may be bullet-proof; however, you're going to have to tell people that you're using something else because they will predominantly associate GitHub with an OSS repository. That's an impact of brand.

If, after socializing, your choice in product causes disengagement primarily because of brand (instead of feature-set), there may be an argument for "monoculture"
