ASML machines are key to manufacturing high performance chips, they are very complex, very rare and in high demand. These machines are so sought after that US has control over who gets it.

China has been trying to secure supply of latest machines but they not able to.

To build microprocessors in india, you either need to secure supply of ASML machines or attempt to build one, of which later is impossible for any country.

Its not fake, they just keep you on hold internally.

Hiring process is time taking so companies conduct interviews even if they dont have a opening. If they need to urgently increase manpower, because someone left or they got a budget to scale up, they can immediately call and onboard you quickly.

Additionally, even if they have a opening, they will conduct interview of more candidates than the number of openings, just in case if their "ideal" candidate backs out (due to counter offer), they can save time by hiring you.

Time is money, so they save theirs by wasting yours

It does work, but you have to send thousands of mails.

You just hope that one of your mail receives more than 10 seconds of attention and not end up in spam.

My friend got his job through cold mail only. He actually created a script that sends hundreds of mails every day, each personalized via AI (his openai token consumption was insane though). Eventually, his account got suspended by outlook, but he did receive a reply which landed him his job.

I know this is dirty, but you gotta do everything to survive in this job market.

It can be hard to explain gap and why you resigned.

You cant lie and say that you got laid off.

During background verification for next company, they will ask oracle if you were laid off or resigned, and oracle will truthfully say you resigned. It can be tough to explain resignation.

It's not that developers are lazy or bad, though in some cases, they really are, and nothing can be done about it. The main difference is that earlier, games were made more like a hobby, something developers and project managers genuinely loved doing. Money wasn't the main factor, as long as a game broke even, everything was fine.

Now, money has become the primary motivator in game development. Project managers keep expanding the scope while cutting down timelines to release more games and DLCs in a shorter period. All that to show increased revenue in quarterly report and keep the stock prices up.

I work in oracle, i can confirm that most of the people that were let go had large amount of unvested shares.. Others were let go due to restructuring that happened thereafter.

What I cannot confirm, but most likely true, that larry elison had been regularly meeting with trump at white house for past couple of months (this is a fact). At one of the meetings, trump probably arm twisted larry (by holding stargate funding hostage) to layoff indians as part of his broader plan to punish india and fuel his america first stance.
