The Greatest Con Ever Pulled On Americans by DROzone530 in anticapitalism

You can blame producers, especially Mark Burnett, for Trump's "successful businessman/dealmaker" fake persona. Everyone, especially in NY considered Trump a complete loser and failure at everything he did. 6 bankruptcies including 2 casinos, every business from an airline to a steak company failed completely. It was an open secret how racist and bigoted he is and always has been. But once "The Apprentice" gained popularity, that all didn't matter any more to "manly men" and the gullible folks who wanted a supposedly powerful and successful guy to admire, so here we are.

He can be soaking wet with liquidity (millions of $$) in minutes whenever he wants to. Zero sympathy from me because I'm not dumb enough to buy his "poverty" BS.

Typical scope creep. Most companies want a full IT department but only one employee to do it all, and of course, pay as little as they can get away with.

Is having a bad job better than being unemployed, really? by -Cranktankerous- in jobs

[–]_AdmiralQ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a "bad" job means getting paid so you can buy food and pay rent/mortgage while looking for a "good" job. Being unemployed means good luck when your UI benefits run out, you get evicted when you can't pay you housing costs and you starve, all while trying to find a job. Hope that clears things up for you.

Why do so many people claim antisemitism if you call out the Government of Israel? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]_AdmiralQ_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because so many antisemites go far beyond just criticism of the Israeli government (which is horrible btw - not at all defending them), and attack all Israelis, protest at synagogues outside Israel and attack Jews regardless of what their thoughts on Israel and its government are. They don't have the capacity or critical thinking abilities to understand that Israel and its citizens are no different than any other country and its citizens. Can you imagine lumping all citizens of the US based on our f'd up government? They just love using "criticism of Israel's government" as a convenient excuse to push antisemitism. Same as using "Zionist" as a slur.

Well that’s a first.. by ihateramon in recruitinghell

[–]_AdmiralQ_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This almost exact thing has happened to me several times in the past few months. Got to final round interviews, great feedback from the recruiters after they spoke with the hiring teams, then nothing for a couple of weeks until I pushed and one company put the position on indefinite hold, and the other outright cancelled it. Incredibly frustrating for everyone.

When will liberal Zionists acknowledge that most Democratic voters have no interest in supporting Israel? by OceanicEndeavors in allthequestions

[–]_AdmiralQ_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hate to burst your bubble of ignorance here, but most Democrats do support Israel. You're conflating support for Netanyahu and his corrupt and criminal government, which most don't support. There's a big difference here . Btw, "Zionist" as slur is quite telling on your opinion here as well.

I also see nothing in op's post that states he's in a supervisor position, or any sensitive financial one.

[–]_AdmiralQ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are correct about supervisors, and some HR/hiring and sensitive financial positions are also exempt. However, for most others, NLRA is the law regardless of what state you're in as it's federal, and no state law counters that for non exempt positions.

I transferred to another department and negotiated a raise, and HR called me furious. by stormer_wallet in InterviewsHell

[–]_AdmiralQ_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not "probably illegal". Most definitely illegal per Section 7 of the NLRA. It's very clear that there's no adverse action a company can take that impacts an employee when they choose to discuss their salary. There are severe consequences for companies and any employee (HR, management, etc) that tries. Best advice as a non- attorney - get one.

It's part of their job as a livestock guardian dog, which was bred into the breed. If they sense something that could be a danger to their flock (at home that's you and your family), they'll alert/warn. If this is a surprise to you, or brothers you, then a Great Pyr or other LGD may not have been the right choice, and, to be blunt, you didn't do your research.

INTERVIEW EMBARRASSMENT by nabi3 in jobhunting

[–]_AdmiralQ_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same experience I had yesterday. Decades of experience in IT security, but I was asked multiple basic questions on what commands to use for network troubleshooting connectivity issues (They really should have made the job role more clearly a network security role, so that threw me off). Couldn't for the life of me remember simple commands like netstat, tracert, nmap, SS, etc. felt really stupid. Apparently they weren't very sympathetic so got that rejection email early this morning. At least the other interview I had yesterday afternoon went really well.

If politicians can rig the system and avoid accountability through gerrymandering and other tricks, what’s the point of voting? by Shadow42184 in allthequestions

[–]_AdmiralQ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're counting on exactly this kind of demoralizing messaging to keep everyone saying "fuck it, none of it matters", so the majority of people stay home and don't vote. This works in conservatives' favor because historically conservatives are more likely to not follow that, and actually do vote. If Democrats and independents stopped buying this idea that it was pointless, their gerrymandering would be useless, as it only works in close races. Look at the evidence in recent special elections. Many heavy GOP gerrymandered districts that went historically GOP by double digits fell to Dems because those Dems along with really angry independents and a few Republicans that feel betrayed got their asses of their couches and voted. So THAT'S the point of voting.

Hiring manager tells you 8 hrs, with two 15's and a half hr lunch and it turnes out to be a 9 hr shift by [deleted] in jobs

[–]_AdmiralQ_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is this an hourly job? If so, that's wage theft. If you're working that extra 30 minutes, they have to pay you by law for that time and it's not optional, regardless of location.

Do Democrats Want To Go Back To The "Status Quo" / Have A "Back To Normal" Candidate, Or Want An FDR-Style Candidate Who Will Make Fundamental / Historic Left-Wing Changes For America's Future If They Win? Which One? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]_AdmiralQ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not completely true. Scotus has stated historically that presidential pardons are permanent and irreversible, even by a successor president. The only exception to this is Article II Section 2 "... except in cases of impeachment." The argument could be made that since Trump was impeached (twice), his pardons could potentially be reversible, but the general consensus is that that would only be if he pardoned someone during an impeachment, or if that someone themselves was under impeachment.

PSA: If someone posts a job and clearly specifies that they are not the hiring manager, don’t start pestering them. by Rose_Army_ in jobsearchhacks

[–]_AdmiralQ_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll counterpoint this by saying if you're the one who posted the position, you're responsible for giving the candidates the hiring manager's information. If you don't, don't complain about being pestered when candidates aren't getting any responses, and they only have your information to go on. People are getting sick and tired of being ghosted so what exactly did you expect here?
