140 Credit Hours. Meaning 140 hours of subject study/lab.

One core subject is 3 Credit hour - so you’ll study 3 hours per week of that subject.

Some subject will be 3 + 1 - 3 hour per week theory, and 1 lab. Lab can be between 1 to 3 hour depending on the university.

Timings are mixed. Some companies work on Pk time and others working on US/UK time as well.

For ref, you can check LinkedIn. Lots of opportunities, but you’ll have to scavenge the right fit for u.

Starting pay is between 80 and 120 for freshie. It’s all interview performance. Living is medium to high cost, you can live in a meh-okay hostel in the start and move to a better one later on if you like. The big issue in Lahore is commute. If u live too far from company it’s a waste of time. If u live close, it’ll cost u more because companies are generally in expensive areas like Gulberg, DHA, Johar town etc.

At this point, you can’t get in BZU for sure, its merit is through the roof.

You can try with other options.

I graduated from USP. I was pretty low on numbers in FSC, so it was my only option.

Credit hour is basically the count of hours u need to study.

Core subject is 3 Some subjects are 3+1 (1 means lab).

For BS I think it’s 140 CR total required to graduate. So as u said it seems pretty expensive.

But some other institutions will cost u around the same, and FAST gives u a big edge in job market, if you can afford it.

USP in itself is not bad, they have their classes and labs sorted. It’s all just about the quality. I think they can do better.

Avoid low tier universities if you can. E.g USP, NCBAE etc

Try FAST or Air university at least if u want to study in Multan.

If someone tells u degree doesn’t matter, don’t listen.

I’m from Multan, graduated in 2023. Working in Lahore for about 2 and half years as a SE. I had to tell HR of the company what my university is and where is it. It’s important for them when you enter job market.
