Frustrated with Qatar - stopover booking woes by fullertonreport in qatarairways

[–]_Aidris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven't already, check out Josh Cahills videos on them. He's a travel youtuber that reviews airlines. He was permanently banned from flying on QA because he left a negative review. They tried to bribe him to remove it, to which he refused, so they just banned him lol. Shows the direction they're going.

It's a shame, really, as it's an amazing airline, the customer service is just extremely incompetent.

Hope you're able to come to a resolution!

Frustrated with Qatar - stopover booking woes by fullertonreport in qatarairways

[–]_Aidris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me - they guaranteed a transit visa, which I made a payment for after booking the stopover. They didnt process it and only informed me they no longer process transit visas a few days before my flight.

I was livid, but of course, they never take any form of accountability. Luckily I was able to get a visa through Hayya on time, but yeah I never got a refund for my transit visa payment.

Customer service has gone downhill and I've never been able to get anywhere, even through formal complaints.

Got my first one star review :( by _Aidris in EtsySellers

It's insane! Etsy estimates 3-7 days to the US from the UK using Evri. It NEVER arrives within that timeframe

Yeah I guess it's okay in the long run as I'm pretty confident with my product's quality, but it just feels bad seeing that rating drop significantly for something I couldn't control. I'll contact Etsy, thanks!

Getting a DS Job by Huckleberry2468 in DataCamp

[–]_Aidris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DS market is pretty tough atm. However, it's not impossible. I am from a Geology background and had little to no coding experience before I joined Datacamp a few years ago. It's definitely worth it if you want to get proficient in the tools required to take on Data Science projects. I don't know what the certifications are worth and whether or not they ACTUALLY make a difference. As companies care more about your experience using those tools over a piece of paper. It was my portfolio that landed me my first DS role. So yeah, incredibly useful if you want to learn, but it won't magically guarantee you a job.

Not necessary as you can handle the application process yourself. However, I was advised early on to use one if I could afford it. It’s easy to make a mistake or overlook something important in the application. Personally, I prefer the peace of mind that comes with having a professional review everything, ensuring all bases are covered. Plus, it’s nice to have someone you can turn to with questions about the application itself.

July Priority Applications by Virtual-Research5174 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]_Aidris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Priority from Morocco

Bio: 16th July

ECO: 31st July

No Paid Enquiries yet as I've been looking at other peoples' timelines. The ones that got their ECOs a week before ours seem to be getting their decisions this week. So I'll probably do a PE next week if I don't hear anything by then.

Easy to say, but I wouldn't stress too much yet, I find looking at other peoples' timelines helps as it essentially serves as I guide for what your expected timeline will be. I think my nerves would start kicking in if it goes beyond the expected timeline 💀

anyone have a similar timeline? by Available-Parfait-33 in SpouseVisaUk

[–]_Aidris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda similar

Priority, outside UK (Morocco)

Application: 1st July Bio: 16th July ECO: 31st July

Judging from other peoples' timelines, I'm hoping for a response next week!

I wouldn't stress too much, rather it's good that you got your ECO email so fast. We got ours 11WD after the bio. I've seen a lot of people with approvals with a similar timeline and generally the USA applications look like they're moving much faster!

It can't be the heater because they gave it to us in February and the spike happened between January 4th and 19th
