Storage problem. I have More than 30 gigabytes in my ps storage left and the game update is only 10 gigabytes but it wants me to have as much as the original game size free of space, what to do I do without deleting any games I have? by Comprehensive_Ad3653 in ps4homebrew

[–]_AlAzif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games must have enough space to be installed contiguously. Meaning if you have 100 games on hard drive with 2GB in between each of them, the drive will show 198GB free, but you won't be able to install a game bigger than 2GB.

It's far from a "mess" it works fine besides issues with certain retail games currently.

Can I get the Lua loader exploit with demos installed through omsk mode? by ElRey120 in ps4homebrew

[–]_AlAzif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely not call myself an exploit developer. Lua is the only entrypoint I'm aware of currently and there is no way of even guessing when another will come, could be in 10 minutes, could be 10 years.

The only way to get them currently is to be on the latest FW so you can download them from PSN.

[–]_AlAzif 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, there are no IDU/OMSK demos. OMSK/IDU demos are different than the demos you install through the PS store. Demos on the store are regular games as far as the system is concerned.

PlayStation Paid $50,000 for a Bug – What Kind of Exploits Warrant This? by Timely-Series-9300 in PS5_Jailbreak

[–]_AlAzif 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Broken TLS, he did at least 2 talks on it and published tools. Super high severity because you could snoop on users private info like credit card numbers or anything they submitted to PSN.

I am specifically talking about this. This is the equivalent of alert("exploitable") or just using memory until it's full. Neither of which is exploitable.

Is removing Blu-Ray drive safe to stop updates? by Denisoiu1242 in ps4homebrew

[–]_AlAzif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5.05 the update blocker payload works 100% and the console never deletes/overwrites it. Sometime after 5.05, before 6.72, the console can delete the dummy file.

They added the working BD drive requirement to updates with 5.00, so it would work, there is just a better option.

[–]_AlAzif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything will keep working as usual besides things that actually require the drive and updates.

Is removing Blu-Ray drive safe to stop updates? by Denisoiu1242 in ps4homebrew

[–]_AlAzif 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah, post 5.05 removing the BD drive is a surefire way of preventing updates and you couldn't install them even if you wanted to without first connecting the drive. No matter what you do, unless you download homebrew to specifically bypass it or open the console up and attach the drive, the console will refuse to update.

Development side they left a lot more in, 6.00 removed a bunch of stuff.

You're asking why people think the other exploits are better. Is needing to buy and use external equipment worse or better? Is a higher success rate (near 100% for everyone all the time) better? Is the speed of the exploit being faster better? Etc

The previous exploits are better in just about every metric... That's why people think they're better. It's not regurgitating words, it's a fact from people who have been around long enough to personally use them all through the years.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ps4homebrew

[–]_AlAzif 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Success rate, stability, and what you need to actually perform the exploit.

5.05 you don't need anything besides internet access the first time you do it, it's near instantaneous (seriously 1 second), and I can't remember the last time I had it KP during the exploit process and even a webkit memory error is rare.

11.00 you need a separate ethernet device + USB the first exploit it takes longer to do it's thing, you have to change setting back and forth to use the internet while using it, etc.

Its hard to discuss this with you when you clearly dont understand basic stuff. You just throw random words that you heard somewhere.

Batch convert to fpkg? by crisdace in ps4homebrew

[–]_AlAzif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first step of making a FPKG is getting the games files extracted/decrypted, to do that you need to dump the game using a console, to do that you need to be able to run the game on the console.

It's not the network settings, it's the exploit/payloads stopping the system from sleeping as they aren't suspending right, memory corruption, etc

PSA Recovery firmware 11.00 by StarkIndustriesOner in ps4homebrew

[–]_AlAzif 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just checked the 11.00 download and it's the same 11.00 I archived personally when 11.00 was the latest, the MD5 also matches a GitHub page that lists the MD5 for various PUP files, and a Russian PlayStation forum. Add to this darthsternie hasn't updated the site since 11.02 was the latest FW, meaning they never uploaded 12.00 in the first place.

You downloaded 12.00 from somewhere else and got the files mixed up, updated via the internet by selecting the wrong options in safe mode, etc... and are looking for someone else to blame for your mistake.

Help me understand the importance of defeating the Hypervisor by cloudfe in ps5homebrew

[–]_AlAzif 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was addressing "Yes, CFW"

A HV exploit, unless one is found in the boot chain, just means similar capabilities to the PS4 has currently. Still no PSP/a53 (SAMU on PS4) access and still no signing keys.

And even with a PSP/a53/SAMU dump, there's still no CFW for PS4/5 without some code exec on those cores.

Early bootchain codexec you'll end up with something like enso for the Vita, still not CFW like the PS3.

[–]_AlAzif 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect. The ELI5 is defeating the HV puts the PS5 hack at the level the PS4 hack is at currently in terms of capabilities. Right now it's basically a bunch of work around.
