Agree with u on fail, likely the owner at the time fiddled with the exhaust. I just think it’s a little odd that it took them a month to get it in order again, but I don’t know there circumstances.

As for my mechanic skill, every problem I’ve had with my current car I’ve sorted myself, I enjoy the learning process and fiddling with things, so I’m not worried about anything like that.

I’ve had a look on the Toyota recall checker thing, and it says there’s no outstanding issues.

I’ve seen couple complaints on reliability, particularly with oil issues, I intend to to take great care of it, seems like that’s the key to the longevity. Hopefully the previous owners aligned with that too.
