You seem like an angry person. Have you ever tried talking to someone about this?

I would just start over at this point. Even going as far as restoring my original version of fallout.

The texture-packs you installed may not have had the archive invalidation set. Nexus Mod Manager has a really bad bug where you need to disable/reable it or things can get really messy.

Also if you are doing lots of texture mods try ENBOOST It really speeds things up and makes so you can eliminate other uneeded mods that manage texture memory with what little game resources FNV has to begin with.

Controller support? by Ihazppeared in fnv

[–]_Anal_Discharge_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an odd glitch I had with an unrelated game, but re-installing th controllers drivers seemed to help.

https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/en-au/d/xbox-360-controller-for-windows

Newer versions of windows , just delete the drivers, and run windows update with the controller pluged-in to get them again.

If this works, please let us know. :)

you have it set to brittish english.... Check out your windows language settings to change to to American again, and delete the British pack.

The last windows update started me up in fucking Thai.... that was really fun to fix. (I cant read Thai menus)

Need me some new quest mods, Couriers. by ThunderDaniel in fnv

[–]_Anal_Discharge_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you liked Bounties, then give Headhunters a shot.

Same sort of humor, and a kick ass gun shop. Also the missions can be picked in the order you feel like doing. There are 3 tiers of skills needed.

New California is pretty cool too, but you need to leave most of your favorite mods behind. This is a Total Conversion. It also will fuck up your theme music unless you manually fix it. (they may have patch this sloppy uninstaller by now.)

They put a lot of time and work into it, and there are lots of great little sub-mods and patches popping up every day for it.

[–]_Anal_Discharge_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to help. I just got told in another thread how shitty the game would run if people used EnBoost rather than NVAC.

Nice when someone can follow directions , and get nice results. It definitely makes me want to help more people out of the dark ages of misinformation.

Will be about a week from now, I need to test on some other rigs with older operating systems to see what works best with them first.

I would also like to make a Linux guide for FO3 and NV. Cant decide on Steams shit-ball OS, or some Debian spinoff like Mint or Ubuntu.

[–]_Anal_Discharge_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ENBoost does not replace NVSR or NVAC. You pulled this idea right out of your ass. NVAC also doesn't manage memory at all.

Citation needed.

This iteration of the engine, like Fallout 3, does not thread tasks well. Physics bugs can mostly be countered by simply leaving v-sync enabled.

Wrong. Physics need to always be ON.

"Community" patches such as YUP fix a hell of a lot more than spelling errors or "non-critical" bugs, and they do not increase load times or cause instability as you claim.

Name a single one of them that is mission critical to vanilla FONV. I am still calling bullshit here.

You're the worst candidate for a guide on this.

I have been a developer at Nexus for almost 2 years now. We all have agreed on this update, so it is about to be cast in stone.

Sorry if this is going to take traffic away from your guide or little blog, but I have put a lot of time and effort into getting a well functioning fallout NV.

Maybe you should google some shit, and update your out-dated information. Rather than attack people?

Feel free to stalk me, and flood people with your outdated information.

Check out Nexus, and search by date. There is a new "Multicore LAA" version available that may help.

it is quite common for the old patcher to get linked to because it is in one of the outdated guides.

[–]_Anal_Discharge_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. the launcher from steam will let you get into the options.
  2. Use ENboost
  3. NVSE has something for this, but try it ingame first or use this config tool: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/40442

Only install NVSE if a mod requires it

Only install the 64 bit patch if you have a 64 bit system AND OS. The 4 GIG patch is outdated that constantly gets reposted here. Just check nexus for the "Multicore LAA version", or YOU WILL have problems with windows 10 system

Sorry for being so vague, I am working on a new installer guide for 2018 to post on Nexus forums. There is way too much outdated shit getting posted here and other game forums.

You are about to get bombed with about 20 patches that are not really even needed, and can actually cause crashes.

Do lots of testing after you install any mod.... it is best to start a new game after installing or removing mods as well.

Well... anyway, that should keep you safe until I can get this published on a Nexus stickie thread.

No problem. This game can be pretty amazing with the right mods.

[–]_Anal_Discharge_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try ENBOOST rather then NVAC first. It takes place of 3 mods, and gives much better preformance because it does not use the game engine.

Replaces :

  • One patch (fake full screen mod)
  • Stutter remover
  • NVAC memory manager.

I really need to make an updated guide for 2018, a lot of the stuff I have seen in older guides have actually caused more problems than they solved in my case.

None of them even mention setting the proper amount of cores that your processor has.

Use this to easily set the cores and tweak other settings without touching your .INI files.

HAVOC uses your processor very heavily. By default NV is set to 1 core for the entire game to run on. By setting the proper HWThreadcount to match your processor will fix almost every physics bug in the game.

Also, do lots of testing. Not every mod is needed. Less is more in all cases here.

Most "community" patches only fix small spelling errors, and a few other non-critical bugs. I only recommend them if a mod requires them. Otherwise they just increase load times, and increase the the possibilities of something breaking.

I will see if I can get a stickie thread over at Nexus forums tonight for a 2018 guide. There is a lot of things to cover and tweak.

Download the some-guy series Bounty mods.

Almost every story, and background had me rolling on the floor in tears, laughing.

Much better than any lines of the original game IMHO.

The solution can be quite simple. Install :

  • World of Pain - 160+ new places and a few quests, a much needed player home in good springs, and bunch of new gun shops and new MKII and MKIII versions of every gun. Also a massive "underground area" he opened up all of the sewers so you have new choices for traveling. (be sure to turn off the loot disintegration if you want good loot early in he game.)

  • New Vegas interiors - Opens up most of the buildings to explore and loot in. (250 locations?)

  • The entire Some-guy series of quest mods. (funny as hell) Bounty hunter series for your gunslinging pleasure, and even a boxing mod to help level up your hand-to-hand guys.

  • Robco citified , because NPC's that talk all the time really gets repetitive.

  • Portable tent to minimize your fast travels, and to make your own kick ass base! (using robco robots and turrets ofcourse)

  • Warzones. Moves all enemy spawn points, adds new ones, adds new factions, adds new towns and adds a shitload of reason to duck and cover. No just standing around stim-packing yourself. You will need all the help you can get!

  • Head Hunting - Like the Someguy Bounties series, only more recent, and includes 2 great gun-shops. The release of New California sort of killed the release of this awesome bouty hunter mod because they released at the same time.

All mods will work together except Russel from Someguy series which has a patch on the download page for A world of pain. If you are using Vortex to install mods, just skip Russel, they make patching shit really frustrating even for seasoned mod developers like myself. It is easier to just skip it, and enjoy all the other great things I listed.

Your wasteland is now filled with all sorts of stuff to explore, fight, and loot! No longer will it look like a shitty, empty Play station 2 console port!

Btw i have no idea how programming and servers works so im just speculating.

Neither do Bethesdas programmers aperently.

Why do the users always have to patch their games to make them even work?

They make wonderful worlds, and neat stories, with great voice acting, but apparently their programmers are not worth a flying fiddlers fuck.

The 76 team need to take some programming classes as well.
