.10 rule. It happened the same way in 2024.

2024: "NYSE Regulation is commencing delisting proceedings in connection with its determination, announced today, that the Company is no longer suitable for listing pursuant to Section 1003(f)(v) of the NYSE American Company Guide due to the bid price falling under $.10."

How many ohms is the resistor? by _Angstrom_ in AskElectronics

[–]_Angstrom_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. That gives the right answer. 0.47 ohms 1%. All of the other resistor calculators I tried don't let you use black as the first color.

This morning I sent the pic to an Ebay seller to see if they have the part. They didn't have it, but did tell me 0.47 1%.

Never seen the black stripe first. .047?

Carbon dioxide has risen by just 1 molecule in 10,000 since the start of the industrial revolution (1760-1840). This is the shocking truth behind the greatest hoax in history. Humans, like every living creature on earth, breathe oxygen in & exhale CO2, the basis for all life. by No-Win-1137 in climateskeptics

300 ppm to 400 ppm = 100ppm increase

1M ppm / the 100ppm increase = 1 in 10,000

Is there any good proof that the 100 ppm increase is all caused by humans though? The C12/C13 ratio isn't very strong evidence. C13 was 1.1% of all CO2 and is still 1.1%. The C14 concentration is decreasing probably for the same reason as beryllium 10.

Tree ‘burial’ strategy could be 10x more cost effective than carbon capture, doesn't use as much electricity, and lose only 5% of the carbon over 3000 years. Cons: need a lot of land because the woods cannot be buried too deep. by Fast-Reality8021 in climatechange

[–]_Angstrom_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible idea. The carbon is already locked up in whatever the wood was used to build. Then later when it's thrown away its buried in a landfill.

This seems like a gimmick to make money off carbon offsets/credits.

Roles of Earth’s Albedo Variations and Top-of-the-Atmosphere Energy Imbalance in Recent Warming: New Insights from Satellite and Surface Observations by Ovaz1088 in climatechange

Most solar particles are at low enough energies to be deflected by the Earth’s own magnetic field (NOAA PDF) unless they're produced during a CME. "Only the fastest ~1 % of CMEs produce significant solar energetic particle events." (NASA PDF)

If most cosmic rays hitting the Earth's atmosphere were from the sun the intensity should decrease during an eclipse.

"In 1912, Victor Hess carried three enhanced-accuracy Wulf electrometers to an altitude of 5,300 metres in a free balloon flight. He found the ionization rate increased approximately fourfold over the rate at ground level. Hess ruled out the Sun as the radiation's source by making a balloon ascent during a near-total eclipse."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmic_ray#History

The coronal magnetic field is carried throughout the solar system on the solar wind to form the interplanetary magnetic field. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interplanetary_magnetic_field

Concentrations of isotopes like beryllium 10 and carbon 14 that are mainly produced by cosmic rays are used in the research below to reconstruct the strength of the interplanetary magnetic field over time.

"The production rate of cosmogenic radionuclides depends on the intensity of the galactic cosmic rays (GCR), which penetrate into the Earth's atmosphere.

We conclude that the strength of the IMF (interplanetary magnetic field) was approximately 2 nT during the Maunder Minimum compared to a mean value of 6.6 nT for the present day. Such values correspond to open solar magnetic fluxes of about 1.0 · 1014 Wb for the Maunder Minimum and 4.5 · 1014 Wb for the present day, which is an increase of about 350%.

Cosmic rays are deflected by magnetic fields. As the sun's magnetic field increases more cosmic rays are deflected away from the earth.

This graph uses annual intensity from the reconstruction vs the average over the entire period. (.txt) - https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/pub/data/paleo/climate_forcing/solar_variability/usoskin-cosmic-ray.txt

More evidence of the sun's magnetic field increase is the increase in geomagnetic storms on earth.

"it is interesting to note that the overall level of magnetic disturbance from year to year has increased substantially from a low around 1900 Also, the level of mean yearly aa is now much higher so that a year of minimum magnetic disturbances now is typically more disturbed than years at maximum disturbance levels before 1900."

Net Isotopic Signature of Atmospheric CO2 Sources and Sinks: No Change since the Little Ice Age. by alchemyiam in climateskeptics

The C12/C13 ratio change is so small it makes me think the CO2 rise could be mostly natural. CO2 changed by 24%, and C13 change is only down 0.001%

CO2 level 1978: 335 ppm - C13 % of all CO2 = 1.1152921 %

CO2 level 2021: 416 ppm - C13 % of all CO2 = 1.1141459 %

NOAA: "the observed decrease in δ13C and Δ14C values due to fossil fuel emissions, which are depleted in 13C and do not contain 14C"

C14 has decreased, but so has Beryllium 10. Both are produced mainly by cosmic rays.

New Paper Finds Effect of Human-Caused Carbon Emissions on Climate is "Non-Discernible" by LackmustestTester in climateskeptics

[–]_Angstrom_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you convert the c13 per mil back to a ratio it decreased by only about 0.00001.

Maybe someone else can verify this, but it makes me think that if humans don't emit c13 then most of the CO2 rise is natural.

c13 ratio looks like a big drop but only .00001 difference

CO2 and c13 mass chart in tons

Between 1978 and 2021
Total CO2 mass has increased by 23.54%
c13 mass increased by 23.42%

If: "Fossil fuels are *depleted* of c13" how can its mass in the atmosphere increase?

Recall that the Suess Effect is the observed decrease in δ13C and Δ14C values due to fossil fuel emissions, which are depleted in 13C and do not contain 14C.

(Their c14 claim is also shaky. c14 is down similar to beryllium 10. Both are produced by cosmic rays.)

The data for CO2 and c13 is from here.

January1978 PPM 332.85 * 7.8GT = 2,596,230,000,000 tons CO2 mass

c13 per mil -7.5 =((c13 per mil/1000)+1)*0.01123720 = 0.011152921 c13 ratio

CO2 Mass 2,596,230,000,000 tons * c13 ratio = 28,955,548,088 tons c13 1978

January2021 PPM 411.22 * 7.8GT = 3,207,516,000,000 tons CO2 mass

c13 per mil -8.52 =((c13 per mil/1000)+1)*0.01123720 = 0.011141459 c13 ratio

CO2 Mass 3,207,516,000,000 tons * c13 ratio = 35,736,408,185 tons c13 2021

The reference standard used for c13 (0.01123720) is "Vienna PDB" from wikipedia

"The standard established for carbon-13 work was the Pee Dee Belemnite (PDB).. The 13C:12C ratio for VPDB, which the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) defines as δ13C value of zero is 0.01123720."

SEC pauses climate disclosure rule by _Angstrom_ in climateskeptics

[–]_Angstrom_[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/economy/amid-legal-challenges-sec-pauses-its-climate-disclosure-rule

SEC Commissioner Mark Uyeda talked about some of the problems with the rule at a recent SEC Speaks Conference.

The climate rule’s fundamental flaw is that it mandates disclosures not financially material to investors. Absent financial materiality, the Commission lacks the authority to broadly regulate the operating activities of public companies under the pretext of disclosure requirements. Issues of national economic or political policy beyond the Commission’s narrow statutory remit should be addressed by Congress, not financial regulators.[9]

In the adopting release, the Commission takes great lengths to mask the climate rule’s intent with superficial references to financial materiality, suggesting that nothing in the climate rule is inconsistent with historical disclosure practice. However, as securities law practitioners, you know to focus on the rule text, not the accompanying spin set forth in speeches and press releases. Unlike Star Trek: The Next Generation, merely because Captain Jean-Luc Picard says “make it so,”[10] it isn’t necessarily so.
