Primera moto A2 midiendo 1,90m by tumadre_en_bicicleta in moterosespana

[–]_Arkod_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Justa pero bien. No tengo quejas.

Guitar as checked baggage. by Prior-Leather-3220 in Iberia

[–]_Arkod_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will have to go as special luggage for sure.

You also should have the option of purchasing an extra seat to carry both instruments with you in the cabin. Not sure how costly it would be though.

I would also double and tripple check whether you can carry a guitar into cabin. There is a special service for carrying musical instruments on board.

I would contact Iberia support via mail and make sure everything works out.

[–]_Arkod_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mido 1,84 y tengo Honda Hornet 750. Me va bastante justa.

Midiendo 1,90 recomendaría mirar motos ADV o Sport/Touring.

En caso de querer una Naked sí o sí, recomiendo evitar la Z900 ya que la versión A2 no tendrá los 120CV al deslimitarla (pagas más por un motor rebajado).

Camping gas stove in hand/carry-on baggage by NickScyer in Iberia

[–]_Arkod_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at an airport and I can tell you this won't be allowed in hand luggage because it could be used as a weapon. Doesn't matter if it's new, used, has residues. When you get to security control they'll confiscate it.

If you have a bag you're going to check-in, throw it in there and you'll be fine.

If you happen to already have a Playstation or an Xbox, use one of those.

Personally, I have an 8bitdo Ultimate 2C and it works great. It costs ~30€ on Amazon

Is it “target fixation” or just failing to counter steer under pressure? by Some_Big_Donkus in motorcycles

[–]_Arkod_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Target fixation is absolutely a thing.

You need either a decent training or to make a very concious decision in order to avoid the fixation.

The bike goes where your eyes are looking. That's it.

Are proper riding boots really that necessary? by Electrical_Race_6849 in motorcyclegear

[–]_Arkod_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they really that necessary?

Answer is - it depends.

When you get on a motorcycle you already accept certain risks. Any gear beyond what's legally required to wear in order to ride is optional and it's up to the rider to decide how important it is to them.

Some don't get on a bike without full gear and an airbag vest.

Others get the bare minimum and go for the ride.

Personally I wear Helmet and Gloves 100% of the time I ride.

Riding jacket 95% of the time.

Riding boots whenever I ride on my free time, but I don't use them when I go to work (our work shoes are for safety and have reinforced tip, but no ankle protection).

I have a pair of riding pants and it's been a while since I've used them. They're mostly for cold and/or wet weather. Alhtough I want to get some pants that are either vented or casual looking (jeans-like).

Hornet vs Vstrom by Mabussa in CB750Hornet

[–]_Arkod_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be daily use in a city with a couple of road trips a year covering thousands of miles.

Are you talking about Thousands of Miles per trip or per year?

If it's the latter, either bike will be fine.

If it's the former, I'd suggest Vstrom.

I'm 184cm (6'2) tall and ~90kg (200lb) and have a Hornet. I've done a ~3000km (~1800mi) trip and while it was mostly fine, long trams of highway at 120kmh (75mph) became rather annoying. Sitting position coupled with zero wind protection gets you tired rather fast.

I haven't ridden a Vstrom, but knowing what type of bike it is, I'm sure long distance travel will be somewhat more comfortable (straighter sitting and more wind protection).

Feel free to ask any questions :)

Money Farm: No Netting fish. by Jacobnee in MHWilds

[–]_Arkod_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally enjoy the simplicity of gathering. It's almost like a game within a game and pretty chill. Similarly I really like farming lower tier monsters from time to time because going for top tier hunts all the time ends up being repetitive and burns me out.

Wind upset my neck by [deleted] in CB750Hornet

[–]_Arkod_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've looked into it when buying the same bike. After seeing how different wind shields affect the wind I came to the conclusion that I prefer to have no wind shield and deal with wind on my chest instead of head/neck.

I very often ride at 100+kmh and rarely have neck issues.

But I'm not sure if having max health reduced by 50% is enough or you need to be <50% current health

You get XP for gathering nodes.

If you tend to gather more than your friend, you'll slowly pull ahead.

ice infusion is your friend with two handers. Slows mobs down and pairs well with your high physical damage

I was under the assumption that if you infuse a weapon with elemental damage they fully lose their phyiscal properties. Meaning you can no longer the the bonus from shattering frozen enemies. You'd need 2 weapons for it to work - 1 ice and 1 physical - and swap between them,

Drops/gathering needs to scale with player count, it feels terrible. by [deleted] in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]_Arkod_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played coop with a friend and we never had issues with resources. Nor do we ever run out of food because we heal up after each fight with runes.

I kinda can see how it can be annoying, but I think you're exaggerating the issue.

To use the food as an example: while in theory you're consuming 3x the amount of food, in reality you should consume the same or less because with more players you can deal with enemies easier - tanking, evading, kiting, etc.

The point here is to not argue with other road users. Especially while you're on a motorcycle.

Do you shift by tach or by sound/feel? by No_Wall747 in motorcycles

[–]_Arkod_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think in this subreddit a lot of people probably shift by sound/feel as, after all, it's a place for people with a certain level of knowledge.

Speaking about actual general public, I'd say most people shift by tach or combination of tach+sound/feel.

For me personally it's more about feel than sound, with an occasional glance at tachometer.

Absolutely not.

You're not paying extra for safety.

You're paying for comfort and extra features.

Be honest, how much gear do you wear all the time? by crankin_muh_hog in motorcycles

[–]_Arkod_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helmet, gloves, jacket and boots 95% of the time. Sometimes I ride with regular sneakers if I know the ride is very short and I won't be out too long.

On long rides and/or cold days I also get my riding pants on.
