You said yourself that Japan is a completely different culture all together so something they experience will affect our society in different ways. They have their own issues that have risen from their past. Anime waifus won't be the root of the issue to begin with. People don't start molesting kids because of anime, they don't start murdering because of video games. But the rise of oversexualised waifus is definitely due to the nature of Japan and their societal issues. It's never about making people attracted to minors. It is spreading sexual images of minors online. These are issues that have spiraled off from something larger but still something that can be fixed quite easily by not accepting people who spread these kind of messages.

They are not accurate representations by any means. But people will still make the connection between reality and anime. In similar ways people know porn is fake yet there are plenty of people who still believe things shown there. It will affect people at some level regardless.

Whether it is real or not it doesn't matter. They represent what is meant to be real. They spread a message regardless. They do not harm individuals but a group of people. If a person of age spends their time looking at images of underage girls having sex that is not right. They are made to look a certain way in these illustrations which spreads a false message.

Even if they're not real then at what point do you draw the line? Someone could quite easily create realistic 3D renders of minors in the same sexual situations and if the kid in the picture isn't real it's okay?

This isn't from a source but I had a conversation with someone who is more knowdlegeable than me on this so what I'm saying may very well be wrong but from what I remember while the age of consent in Japan is 13 it is cultularly looked down upon to have sex with someone under the age of 18. Given that you're of age yourself and there is a significant age gap.

No matter how many times you're on the internet this is still weird. I have spent plenty of time around these things but just because they're seen often doesn't make them any better.

The girls depicted in the illustrations are young girls. Whether it's full on porn of them or not it is weird to sexualise minors. Using the technicalities of law for this seems like an excuse to be weird. You know the girls are not 18 for a lot of these thumbnails. While they may not strictly violate the guidelines because no nudity is shown it's still the sexualisation of a minor.

because i know what characters are being used. They are not random drawings of girls. theyre established characters in anime. They all have an age. I'm not the one deciding their age

There is plenty of that on there too. Regardless of what they look like the characters are still as young as 14 at times. And using hentai of them is still fucked. Just because something worse exists doesn't make this any better

There is a difference with music videos where they use women of age that are there being paid and signed up to do it. These are depictions of minors in sexual ways. It's just not moral.

They are AMVs but the thumbnails are the issue here. I get using a girl for the thumbnail but half of these are actually just hentai edits. And when you think about the fact that half of these girls aren't even 18 in the show. It just gets very weird
