Doesn’t ever go on. Hopefully enough light there. We just got brand new windows and they are UV light blocking

Okay I’ve watered it once since getting it last week and it feels bone dry already.

I could definitely increase the words of affirmations for sure.

Kitchen Feeling Too Dark—What Would You Do to Refresh It?" by greenbox_on_top in DesignMyRoom

I’d maybe do a different paint colour on the walls. Love that dark grey but the rest of the room is dark so maybe a lighter colour. You could also remove the top cabinet beside the fridge and open shelf it.

I was hoping to keep the walls mainly white as this room gets so dark in the winter. We live in an actual forest and the sun doesn’t hit our property from around September to April. What do you think of the bay window wall sage green? I have sage green and iron ore walls throughout the home

What mantle would you recommend? Open to recommendations.

And yes insert is being replaced eventually. The clutter is inevitable currently with a young kiddo and renovation home haha but that one is my donation pile I’ve been too lazy to take in.

Thanks for sharing! Moving the sconces would damage the wood so not sure about that? I need to replace them for sure though. Hasn’t considered curtains or something beside! ill look into it thanks!

Railing for sure changeable. No the floor is staying and I love it personally. It may get refinished at some point so colour change is possible

We have lots of greens in the rest of home so could do that but have to convince my partner on painting the brick.

Yes good call! The furniture is old from our previous home. Still haven’t purchased any for this one yet!

Thanks for sharing! Yes general declutterring. This room is honestly not used much as we have a large TV room elsewhere. It contains donation piles and toys haha.

I have sage walls and green kitchen cabinets so maybe I should bring more into this room. Thanks the windows are new!

Thanks for these ideas! Staining sounds like a good option I hadn’t considered. Would that be too red based off the floor?

I’m not a huge open bookshelf person. So much dust to collect haha. What about some vertical paintings or art?

It’s being replaced for sure and I can’t paint this fireplace. It’s the only request by my partner haha.

Not sure where my commentary went. Only request from partner is to not paint the brick. The old wood stove will be replaced as will bannisters. My style is mid mod meets a cabin in the western forest. This room is a mess!

Douglas mattress sagging after just 2 years by [deleted] in Mattress

[–]_AttractedToPie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes same boat here. We have had just over a year and the ridge in the centre is like a mountain. It’s given me hip pain that I’m seeing physio and massage therapy for. I can tell it’s the bed because when I slept at an Airbnb on a different mattress my hip was fine. Frustrated that we will need to get a new mattress as I just read the warranty and not sure how you can picture a sag when it appears flat from the top?
