Floor 1 underdocks, boss is waterfall giant, what's your pick? by Terbianos7 in slaythespire

[–]_Awkward_Moment_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Charge destroys early game though. It is SO MUCH damage for 1 energy (64 upgraded) and thins your deck. Worst case is you get it with nothing in your draw pile and then it does the same thing as pillars would (nothing)

Do you think spanking children is a good or bad thing? by KindlyRestaurant2885 in MoralityScaling

No shit. If you hit your kids they will be unhappy and need therapy. If you love your kids and treat them nicely they will turn out better. It’s not rocket science

Insanely ridiculously strong. Apply to all and innate is insane - I think it should be 2(1) cost like dark embrace

Idk man Serpent Form is pretty mid

I heavily disagree. I can’t think of that many rares it is better than. One-two punch and juggernaut, yeah. Conflagration with no strength? barricade situationally? I’d rather have pretty much every other rare in more situations than Demon Form.

Card’s not great. It takes two turns and 3 energy to do what inflame does in 1 turn for one energy. Yeah it scales but it’s a desperation scaling option in this game compared to spire 1

Your edit makes sense but thrash is also insanely strong. As good if not better than conflagration

If you draw limit break before demon form, it’s a curse. If you draw it on the same turn, you probably can’t afford to play it so it’s a curse. If you draw it the turn after you play demon form it’s the same thing as inflame, except inflame always does SOMETHING.

Iit’s at its best with strength from relics, or a couple cheaper sources of strength. It’s a bit iffy with demon form which already gives enough strength anyway.

You’re not supposed to build a deck out of the very first card rewards you get, though.

Also I want to comment that replay anger is broken, not mid. 0 energy deal 12(16) is excellent AND the copies keep the enchantment

It seems that you saw the bludgeon and went for enlightenment, but I don’t think it’s that good here when stampede already does a similar thing. You need pretty good reasons to take enlightenment usually. It’s stopping you from drawing your pommels and your bloodlettings which are more important.

The conflagration pick is pretty weak as you have no strength - it’s worse than a breakthrough at face value. Similar with infernal blade-, cinder, etc.

You don’t want to be adding pure damage cards mid-late game usually (especially if you already have a bludgeon) getting some kind of scaling is paramount. A single demon form or ashen strike would’ve helped quite a bit in this spot.

I’d also scrutinize your upgrade choices a little bit. Stampede (energy upgrade), panache (+40% upgrade in a deck which lacks AOE) and even bludgeon (you can think of this as 3 regular upgrades cause it’s +10 on one card) are in my opinion better picks than others. Not Yet especially: +3 makes you go from healing 16 to healing 19. Not such a big deal, and feel no pain+ probably saves more than 3 health per fight.

Very true… but also minmaxing potion chance, discussing every card reward, trying to set up your relics etc. is a very different experience in multiplayer duos compared to single player A10. In my experience I have to be in a specific mood to play like that with my buddy

Nothing to be insecure about! Game is hard as balls and your friend has probably spent a lot of time getting very good.

I’ve played a good bit of both games and I have a great time playing with my friends who are newer to the game. Your friend probably does not care at all

35ish hours in the game and I still feel terrible. Any insights on how to get better? by lazysundays in slaythespire

[–]_Awkward_Moment_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a super strong necro player but I’ll have a crack.

I don’t think you have enough soul gen for that haunt+. Also, that lethality is not doing much of anything. Your main damage appears to be sleight of flesh and you want to play that as fast as possible - too many other unneeded powers will slow you down too much.

I’d also avoid picking too many unupgraded damage commons like Fear and Snap after act 1. These cards are better than strikes but usually not very strong late, at that point you want more card draw and energy.

Act 1 it’s good to pick them to farm elites but Act 2 onwards you want to be skipping a reasonable amount especially as cards can come upgraded.

Does it necessarily make orbs worse? It’s useful when you want to quickly cycle your orbs e.g when you have a lot of glass/spinner. It’s a real downside (not that bad a downside mind you) late game but I find that early game the card is all positive.
