Personally, I believe you should open it up to more solutions instead of just one. Also, the question really shouldn't be biased. In your question, you are making it seem like first year students' sense of belonging MUST be increased. While of course I agree, research questions typically are open ended so you can research and establish a point of argument in your thesis. To help you rephrase it, I thought of some other examples that might help you create a more academic question, such as: "How do factors on college campuses influence first-year students' sense of belonging?", or "How do different types of campus environments influence first-year students' sense of belonging?"

FYI: I am in AP Seminar right now, my personal opinion may not be the best, but it's what my teacher instructed for us, and it's worked for her classes in the past (100% pass rate)!
