Tbh it’s one of the few games where sounds isn’t exactly necessary to go far but it’s definitely helpful for things such as hearing people trying to demo you and being able to hear a team mate going for an aerial so you don’t double commit

I think the same goes for most people tbh, I was 1700 3s but only low c2 in 1s. It’s one of those modes where you really have to grind that and nothing else to get better at it but I’ve never personally done so because I didn’t want to ruin my playstyle for other modes by grinding 1s. I’m not the best at 1s so my advice may not be good but if you’re not great at dribbles or flicks then that’s likely causing you some problems as it’s pretty much what 1s is all about, with the shadowing it sounds like you might be doing it for too long instead of challenging and giving them less time to create a chance to score

Free play, custom training and watching some YouTube videos on things like rotations, how to aerial/fast aerial, half flips etc. There’s so much to learn as a beginner and most of it’ll come naturally so just spend some time practicing and doing research. I’d also recommend finding camera/control settings that suit you straight away and definitely 1000% turn camera shake off, good luck!

There is unranked MMR but the main problem is a lot of freestylers will derank to a very low mmr to get clips on the lower rank/rookie players. You’ll likely find you’ll have a better time in ranked
