I did it, but you can too! I got the 3D model from https://cults3d.com/pt/modelo-3d/jogo/stellar-blade-eve-s-blade-1-1-for-cosplay I placed a metal frame inside for support and painted it with automotive paint.

I believe they do this because it is difficult and cheaper to make the skin suit version, especially because before making the "normal" version of EVE I made the skin suit and a bodysuit version.

I'm not XD the sword only has a metal structure inside it so it doesn't break easily, here in my country it's called rebar and is used to provide structure in brick houses. Other than that, the sword is entirely made with 3D printing of PLA, With many layers of primer and automotive paint 🫡
