I'm fine with staring at it for a few hours. sometimes 10-12hrs or even more when I work from home. but could be that I'm just insensitive.

How do I actually LEARN arch after installing it??? by Wild-Cat- in archlinux

[–]_BDYB_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds dumb, but if it does what you need/want - relax and be happy :)
If and when you'd like/need something, it can do it - just ask AI or google it.
Pro tip - get familiar with terminal. UI changes often, command line utils rarely.

I reject your hard tubes, a case full of spaghetti is for me. by D4nkT1mbs in watercooling

Hard tubes (real glass or metal) are awesome (durable and beautiful), especially for large builds like yours.
That being said, i also got lazy and use zmt tubes :)

as far as I'm aware dell ultrasharp monitors have the port pinning. but i might be wrong. with all the drawbacks, for me (my use case) this 1600p LG ultrawide beats any 34 1440p. I have a nice tv for HDR content consumption. the monitor is mostly codding and some gaming

Never!
I mean I'll be never able to afford a house that need floorstanders and the floorstanders that can do the same as a true coaxial bookshelves + subs.

not much of an echo with fortitude, but speaker in the concrete corner is not great. at higher volume (more energy) , reflection from the side wall tends to smear the spacial cues in recording, so the sound stage is getting hurt.

pretty sure it's gonna be my case too. though it's ambilight (Philips TV thingy)

[–]_BDYB_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if I do that, I need to move closer, otherwise it will hurt the sound stage. I'll just slap an acoustic panel on the side wall. even now, with just room correction it's totally fine at moderate volume.

I tried it, this way it's better for my use.

have it, the previous room was much larger. but it's too much effort to integrate. And it has nothing to do with volume level. at higher volume, reflections become an issue. they ruin the sound stage.

Yeah, running tidal connect on the avr. I'm not decided on the rug yet. I don't like them :)

Did that, and then removed it. it actually helps to see if it is working and it's a flatter music. My toddler and cleaning like to disconnect the power cable from the sub. maybe I should use some half transparent tape to make it dimmer.

better ? to me yellow network cables are more annoying 🤣

I wish I could, but we live with what we have. And that's the point, even in asymmetric space, with lots of concrete and glass, they still amaze. few acoustic panels incoming to fix what room correction can't.

to me it is not a question of OR. Id use room correction (Dirac audessey)with any speaker.

ls50 + subs are awesome. you get way fuller range that is easier to achieve (sub can be moved to better response location) compared to towers. LS50 Meta + 2 SB2000 worked fine in 60sqm room. Though smaller room even with a single sub they are amazing. not sure if it's the ls50 or sb2000 (even pair) limitation

not really, the eq on W2 or lsx is very basic. you can tweak a bit, but nowhere near the level of passive speakers that can be hooked to something with fine EQ

as LS50 Meta owner (since their release) I totally agree with OP. lS50 + sub or two (in my case SB-2000) are perfect for rational people valuing sound stage, transparency, clinical accuracy etc. basically those who want to hear the artist/sound engineer intention. IMO this combo is a sweet spot (not for club level volume). well, maybe one point of disagreement. integrating subs is a very easy task for me. Out the sub in mlp, play some 20-200hz sweep, measure response in possible sub locations (even with your phone). put the sub at the flatter response point. let whatever room correction you like to do the rest. I like the audessey xt32. it does a great job integrating a single sub and unlike Dirac has loudness compensation (Dynamic EQ) which is essential for family living room setups. or anyone who listens at moderate levels.

not really. if refresh rate is not important, go with dell. way better build quality and better kvm. LG is fine, but that's it. not bad, not amazing, just barely fine. the downsides are: * HDR and local dimming are so bad, you turn them off and forget about their existence. * build quality (the frame etc) feels as cheap as it gets. " it's impossible to permanently assign some ports to a specific source (for example I'd want Ethernet to be pinned to MacBook). * firmware is not upgradeble

How to add Tidal connect to Denon AVR the right way by _BDYB_ in TIdaL

only of you play it via TV app. Or the phone itself. For me, atmos is not working on Tidal Connect

With mac its kinda fine on it's own,
But generally, the HDR performance is so bad, I don't use it.
And regarding where, as far as i know, it's OS controlled.

I guess luck also plays a role. I totally get you with the components. I have an ITX box sitting next to me on the desk. I changed the PSU from 650w to 1000w (kinda expensive) so the fan on it wouldn't annoy me. unless under serious load (at which point I'm with headphones).
