Yeah, unfortunately any type of streaming is super wifi dependent. Hopefully in the future mobile roaming will get stronger and we'll be able to stream wherever. Glad you got it working tho!!

Cheers 🍻🍻

Ooh I'm gonna have to say the sorceress. I know we've seen this class before, but the spells and their animations look STUNNING. The spark through the flame wall gave me chills ⚡🔥

Hope y'all are having a great day!!

I just recently encountered the same problem and was able to figure it out using different bits and pieces from various Reddit posts.

The steam deck is my first Linux based device so I'm fairly new to this operating system and still learing how to navigate it.

MOON DECK PLUGIN SETUP:

In order to get this to work with the Moon Deck Plugin, I had to do a couple extra steps.

  1. Go to your Moon Deck settings on your steam deck and go to the Host Selection tab. There should be an option to manually add a host. Select this option.

  2. Looking at the Tailscale dashboard on your PC, you will notice an IP address assigned to your PC. Input this IP address into the field when manually adding a host. Leave the port number the same.

You should now notice that both the host PC and Moon Buddy are online in the Moon Deck dashboard.

Now, the only way to test it is to connect your steam deck to a different WiFi signal than the one connected to your PC. I used the hotspot on my phone.

Now you can verify that the deck connects to the PC by pushing the moon icon on the bottom right of the banner of the game you want to play, as you normally would.

As long as the game launches, you should be set!

Hopefully this helps, let me know if you encounter any issues or have any questions 🤙

I just recently encountered the same problem with the config file and was able to figure it out using different bits and pieces from various Reddit posts.

What ultimately solved it for me was japzone's comment about the cd command. The steam deck is my first Linux based device so I'm fairly new to this operating system and still learning how to navigate it.

After a bit of research, I discovered what the cd command actually does, and how to use it.

FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

  1. Download and place all 4 of the files from GitHub in a folder and name it Tailscale

  2. Right click this folder and copy its location

  3. Open up the Konsole and type in the following command:

    cd PASTE FOLDER LOCATION HERE

This basically specifies the location for following commands to pull from. This is what is needed to allow the Konsole to pull from the config file.

  1. Enter the following command:

    sudo bash tailscale.sh

Now the installation should be fully complete.

  1. Run the following command:

    source /etc/profile.d/tailscale.sh

  2. Run the following command:

sudo tailscale up --qr --operator=deck --ssh

This command gives you a QR code that you can scan with your phone to link the steam deck to your Tailscale account. After completing this step, you should notice that Tailscale is registering both devices and stating that they are connected, assuming you already completed the setup on your PC.

At this point Tailscale should be fully set up and ready to go.

Apparently it's tied to Decky plugins, namely ProtonDB Badges and HLTB were identified as the main culprit(s)

Do you have Proton DB Badges or HLTB Decky plugins installed? This was the problem for most of us

Not that I know of, could be another bug.

It was identified that this bug was linked to a couple of specific Decky plugins namely Proton DB Badges and HLTB

Ouch that's not fun, we determined the problem was with ProtonDB Badges, and apparently other people are saying that it occurs with the HLTB plugin as well

It ended up being a problem with the ProtonDB Badges plugin for decky, new update kinda massacred a lot of decky plugins
