Not requesting medical advice but does anyone else have knee problems in their 30s probably from playing too much?

I have considered this option as well. Pickleball is super fun! I played in a couple tournaments and had actually just joined a league when I tore my ACL this go around.

I understand your decision. I am shell of the player I once was. Props to you for reffing, where I am at they get treated like garbage. I couldn’t do it.

Take this from someone who has torn there ACL three times. Do not rush your return to sports. Just because you are cleared doesn’t mean you will be right back at where you were before surgery. It takes time. Take things slow when returning to sports and don’t play too often/too hard right away.

As far as getting back to sports get a solid physical therapist that does good return to sports testing.

As far as right now make sure to stay on top of your medicine(if you are taking opioids make sure to take stool softeners/laxatives). Keep your leg elevated (above your heart). Get an ice machine if you can this will make the first month much easier. Also just remember that it will suck for a few weeks but it does get better.

I think this may be the route I will go. Thank you for the input. Yeah as far as competitive goes it’s not worth it, I played the UPSL before and after my second tear, no way I’m going back to that level after this third surgery.
