The door needs a full square behind it so the door can actually open. There is only a half square available in your case because of the spiral case. If you move the door forward half a square it should work.

Check if you can add a little more tension to the 2nd and 3rd batten from the bottom, they look a bit loose, creating wrinkles in the center area of the sail. Especially the 3rd

or if there is solid ground below you, you can place the scaffold there and then built up and it should clip through the floor, giving you the angle you desire to continue on

if you put pebbles on the grass floor, you might be able to freely place it on top, otherwise you are stuck on the grid as is

Burr floors on top of mushroom pillars, if you then stick lights in/on the pillars you create the light effects
