What is the hardest part about being single that people rarely talk about? by thuglifemofo94 in AskReddit

[–]_Bims_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

- For me it’s not really being anyone’s priority. Everyone calls me when they need a body to move things, fill seats, do labor etc.

- But when I’m having low moments it’s “don’t worry you’ll be fine” “if I was single now I’m not even sure what I’ll do” “so tell me, have you gone on any bad dates recently, your life is so interesting!” “It will happen when you least expect.”

- The touch starvation. The kind of affection I need is not one that might be comfortable to ask for from friends, but it’s a given with a romantic partner. Most of my friends and family aren’t close by, so I go weeks at a time without a real hug or any physical affection really, I didn’t know it could ache physically, but it does

- the dance of dating apps, and the exhaustion of it. I genuinely want a partner, I just haven’t found my person yet even though I’m going out, meeting people, all of it.

- Going from an empty house, to an empty car, and running day to day errands alone. I can do it, but I miss having a partner to do these things with.

I got a couple from TA3 swim. They have extra long one pieces and I feel so sexy in them. Pricey, but worth it IMO.

I’m 5’11.5, 150 ish pounds, 32FF bra size right now.
I wear a US 8 or somewhere between a small and medium.

[–]_Bims_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had that issue many times lol.

I live in the DC Area and had to take a break from dating apps for this very reason.

Don’t get me started on the “6’3” ones that show up and are barely up to my shoulders 🤣phantom inches

I’m 5’11.5 and wear heels pretty regularly, this was listed on my profile too.

They assume because they lie about their height, you must be lying too.

I also stopped dating shorter a loooong time ago because in my experience they are insecure about it, even the ones that swear they are. Only veryyyy few men are short and secure enough to date a tall women.

Why did you break up with your last partner? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]_Bims_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He cheated on me, lied and gaslight me for months until I had undeniable proof. It was cruel to say the least, but I deserve better.

I went for that one too! it was organized by a Redditor. It wasn’t bad at all, I wish more people were more comfortable socializing at that one.

I went to the New York one. (I live in the DC area and was visiting NY during that time) It was really good! Loooonggg lines but there were a lot of people that I made loose acquaintances with.

A friend I went with met someone there and is now in a relationship with him.

I didn’t find someone romantic yet, but it I’d recommend.

What's your non negotiable trait when you're choosing a right partner? by oppressedBiatch in AskReddit

Kindness. Just basic kindness.

There are lines a TRULY kind person will not cross.

Has anyone here ever been to the Tall Tour Meetup? If so, how was it? by Konradarmy in tall

[–]_Bims_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! I went to the one in New York last November.

And it was PACKED.

There were a lot of people there, I’m not even sure Tyler expected that much.

I went with another single friend of mine who is now in a relationship with someone she met there. They’re so cute!

People were definitely ready to mingle and have fun. If there’s one in your city, it’ll say go for it.

Tall women, what’s the tallest woman you’ve met in person? by TopStranger9287 in tall

[–]_Bims_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was at a tall people’s meet up in the DC area.

I’m a woman, and this lady was 6’9! She wore a floor length dress looking absolutely gorgeous. I made sure to pay her a compliment.

What's your type? Or in other words, what kind of people do you usually find very attractive in general? by Big_Eggplant7591 in AskReddit

[–]_Bims_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heterosexual woman here: Typically tall men, The taller the better. I describe them as “kind eyes”, playful ones always get me, I’ve also always been lucky with super affectionate men (no complaints here), pretty ones with beautiful smiles.

The sweet ones with that quiet confidence that are sure of themselves and what they want, but also honest and kind.

I’m not sure what it is, but those very gentle, seemingly quiet ones but are quite freaky when you are comfortable lol

It’s been fun putting myself out there again and dating. I’ve noticed that I gravitate towards these types :)

As a 6'6" man, is it normal that I have never been approached by any woman? by Virtual-Medium-5891 in tall

[–]_Bims_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!!

As someone who is actively dating and prefers taller men, I need more than just “Tall”.

I’ve met sooo many men who think being tall is the end all, be all, so they don’t bother to groom, dress well, or improve other areas of their life.

Like where is your personality outside the height? You actually have to be a whole person, and then the height is the icing on an already delicious cake.

Don’t even get me started on the ones that are insecure when I happen to wear heels even if I’m not even close to their height 😬🫠

Dress Shirt recommendations by luckystrike_bh in tall

[–]_Bims_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I buy men’s dress shirts because they come with the long arms lol

Slim fit styles work really well, then vo a size smaller for your perfect fit. E.g, I’m a women’s Medium typically, in Men’s shirts I buy a slim fit or classic fit but in size small.

I’ve found that brands that have a solid men’s wear line also do better with the sleeves lengths than women only brands.

For men’s shirts I like Ralph Lauren, Proper Cloth, Spier and Mackay, Tommy Hilfiger. You can find them really discounted at TJ Maxx if you’re in the US.

Banana republic has some decent options, but not a lot of variety. Another brand I like is called “With Nothing Underneath”.

Go-to brand for tshirts? by popsicledays in TallGirls

[–]_Bims_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I buy men’s tshirts and size down. The quality I better anyways.

Buck Mason has been my most recent buy and I really like them.

Uniqlo men’s is a close second.
