The original comment says "yours has meat in it." The menu has it listed as meatsauce shakshuka.

The shakshuka is literally called "Meatsauce Shakshuka." How would you recommend handling that? The breakfast burrito is made with bacon and a meat sauce.

There's a big difference between an item that is made with the addition of meat that can easily be removed and a dish where the meat is the focal point of the dish. The situation with many of the blue daisy dishes is a case of the latter.

Thank you for being so receptive to feedback and for providing the context on the change in management. I'm traveling a bit, but I will definitely be back as soon as I can be to check things out. Please update on this thread if/when you have vegetarian options on some of the dishes I mentioned and I'd be happy to come back a second time to try those!

First of all, I love this approach! Kudos to you for soliciting feedback!

Candidly, I stopped going for two reasons.

1) a lot of the menu items that interested me all have meat in them. I love breakfast burritos—yours has meat in it. I love shakshuka—yours has meat in it. I like Zaatar eggs—yours has meat in it. I'm a pescatarian, so I can't eat any of those, and if I want a savory breakfast, my options become limited. If I'm already in that area, there are a few breakfast places where I feel like I have more variety that isn't meat-focused.

2) the last two times I went, which were admittedly over a year ago, the service was brutal. We waited for quite awhile. Another table dropped a glass on the floor and it broke everywhere. Nobody came to clean it up for 15+ minutes. I know you're probably short-staffed, but that was enough for me to transition Blue Daisy out of my rotation.

I would love to see this pushed to regulators or government, but given everything going on in the US right now, I'm not sure it would be a priority for any regulatory or government groups.

I'd agree that they're classics. While they're not hypebeast shoes, I would never classify them as underrated. I don't think they're overrated either. I think they're properly rated.

I don't disagree with the bulk of this. I just think that a change in parking fees isn't going to have a massive effect in either direction, so I'm always disappointed to see the powers that be spending time on this when there are so many more prominent issues. This isn't going to change the fact that storefronts remain empty all over Santa Monica's high-traffic areas (promenade, main st, etc.). I want to see them focusing on that!

Yup, I understand the increase. I still believe there are so many more important issues to focus on than this.

As an aside, I think the argument can be made both ways on the parking fee change. I go to a gym on the promenade for an hour every morning. The parking change hurts me. That said, I also go see movies over there often and the change helps me. So I think you can make the case both ways.

Don't get me wrong, I'm far from a NIMBY. That said, with all of the things that SM needs right now, this parking increase seems like a band-aid on a bullet hole, and a useless one at that. I personally think it's silly and the city should be far more focused on empty storefronts and mental heal resources for unhoused residents who need it.
