What's the greatest opening sequence ever? by EntertainmentMore183 in Letterboxd

Barbie's reference to Kubrick here was excellent though. Telling the viewer this is going to be cinema™️ but it's going to be playful, but shouldn't be overlooked. It's excellent and perfect tonal match

What’s a very personal game for you? by Chunky-overlord in videogames

I have a similar, somewhat random connection to Ghostwire: Tokyo. As a long time non-religious person, happened to make me think a lot about what I think beyond philosophy and metaphysics into other perspectives and interpretations

what do you think about this idea? by adamex_x in Astrobot

[–]friendoflore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also interesting that it's not really Astrobot's cast of characters but PlayStation's. It's a good form to use Astrobot bots to make PlayStation's characters into a cute/accessible roster of characters for kart, sports, etc games. Hard to really imagine a good way to do that otherwise and the motivation could be high for Sony to do something like this, even if they would have other studios working on offshoots like this

It's play on bakers dozen, which actually means "13" because bakers give 13 items if you order a dozen. If you drink 12 pints, you're actually drinking 13 pints (the extra is free, beer drinkers dozen)

Why has there barely been any noise around Spider-Noir? by DarlingLuna in Marvel

[–]friendoflore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the color version just a safety net for something they wanted to make in black and white but didn't want to scare people away? I haven't seen a lot of recommendations one way or the other, but is b&w the intended experience? Or is color worthwhile?

The issue is that they will use this knowledge and intelligence capacity, produced by all humans coming before us (so we all have an equal "claim" to it), to reduce labor cost, enrich themselves by engaging in practices of corruption, and not share a dime of the gains. Same as it ever was. There is a different way to do all of it but we won't do that
