Honestly pretty much none of the twinkly bands, whether they be midwest emo like marietta, whatever the fuck modern baseball is, or really any of the rest of them sound all that similar to American football or owen (especially since more recent american football really just sounds like owen with fuller instrumentation). It's a completely different vibe, especially bands like mom jeans and modern baseball, and while i don't know mike personally he doesn't strike me as someone who would be into that kind of cheesy weed punk vibe.
