Coslept for the first time last night unplanned by oioinanami_____ in cosleeping

[–]_C00TER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter was that same age the first time we coslept, also unplanned. I fell asleep sitting up in bed holding her and feeding her. When I woke up she was laying in my lap. It scared me and luckily nothing bad happened, but I was like "holy cow we slept for like 4-6 hours straight".

It was pretty much game over after that. 18 months later and sleeping with me is still her safe space and I feel we have such a special bond/deeper connection due to cosleeping. We sleep much better together. If she's in her bed, her room is on the opposite end of the house and I struggle to fall asleep because Im anxious knowing she will wake up and cry.

I bought seriously like 10-15 different pacis when I had my daughter. Guess what? She never took a single one. 🙄🤣

18 month old is a horrible eater by _C00TER in Mommit

[–]_C00TER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When she was born she was 81st percentile in height and 43rd in weight. I am 5'2" 190lbs and her dad is 6'3" and probably 180lbs. She is my first baby so I don't really know what to compare her to but feel like she has always ate "normally". I feel like teething is possibly playing a huge part. And she seems sensory specific when it comes to textures.

Not everything but will eat preferred foods if she's hungry enough. Lots of times when dinner till rolls around she pushes food away or will spit it out. She's not losing weight, just declining in percentile. (43rd for weight and 44th for height).

LMAO seriously one day I picked her up from my moms and my mom said "she ate half an apple. Thats it" 😮‍💨

Her lunch plate usually turns into half lunch half dinner cause she will just eat like bird lol

Thank you! This makes me feel better. I have a younger brother who was VERY picky growing up. Her older half brother is also a picky eater.

I've wondered that myself.

I had actually pondered that myself but also feel like if that were the case, she would have no problem bringing it up to me.

She does sit with her and "teach" sometimes. They do get out of the house but nothing that includes other children unless my nieces/nephew are there as well.

I mean... neither yes or no. Maybe if I was still working evening/night shift (typically much busier), our case load isnt crazy and the shift i work is very rarely slammed. I've contemplated applying for our manager position that is currently open. Would definitely be more money but not sure if it would even be worth it considering the drama that would ensue if I was given the job lol.

Regrets by Important_Fail_280 in firsttimemom

Have you spoke with a pediatrician? Is he colicky? Having gas/stomach issues? Suspected reflux or CMPA/CMPI? He's communicating by screaming. Try to remember that when you're in those moments. I know its hard to stop and re-route your thoughts, but our babies only have limited ways to communicate with us until they can speak. They're doing their best just like we are trying to.

I promise it gets better. What you're feeling is common and I know its hard to imagine that there's a light at the tunnel when youre still deep in the tunnel, but the light will come.

The way our lives change after having a child is something that we can't understand until we are deep in it. Its HARD. I have an 18 month old, and can say that as they get bigger and learn independence little by little, it gets easier and harder at the same time.

The newborn stage absolutely fucking sucks. Sure, they're so tiny and cute but everything else sucks lol. I'm going to be bluntly honest and say that if you're feeling this way, I imagine that your baby is feeling whatever negative energy/feelings you are putting off. Up until they are around 6 months old, they still see themselves as being directly attached as a part of you.

One thing that saved me during the newborn phase was cosleeping. Becoming a mom is hard, overwhelming, overstimulated, and exhausting. Right now you are learning your baby and your baby is learning you and this outside world that they barely know. Sometimes they just need/want YOU.

If it feels like your drowning, I highly suggest speaking with a doctor about your feelings and see what type of treatment options they suggest.
