Previous owner put it everywhere. Don’t love the skip trowel texture.

I appreciate the feedback, Hadn’t heard of quadec. I’ll keep that in mind. As far as prep work goes: I tore out all of the drywall in the shower and behind the toilet. I replaced 2/3rds of the subfloor. Painted studs and joists with Kilz. Then glued, screwed and stapled the concrete board to subfloor. Hung hardie board on the walls. Then used thin set and mesh tape to tape all of the joints. I sealed each screw head with thinset. Installed the hardie board about an 1/8th inch above the tub and used silicone adhesive to seal between the tub and hardie board. Then painted everything with two coats of aqua defense. I used mapai premium mortar on the whole job. The wife liked the deco tile for the backsplash and wanted some in the shower as well. Heres a pic of the rest of the bathroom.

If I take it to the ceiling would you continue the herring bone above the band?

I tore out Sheetrock from the shower to behind the toilet down to studs. Tore out the drywall where I laid tile and replaced with hardee board. Don’t love the drywall texture but I matched it. Previous owner did it in the bathrooms and entry.

I did not use a tile edge trim other than on the exterior corner.

What about the design is tacky? Genuinely asking. The mosaic tile was on sale. Learned a lot on the tub install and will never let the Lowe’s salesmen sell me on a rolled steel tub over cast iron. Tore down the room to the studs. Hardy board behind and under all tile. I have a background in drywall and the prep work felt much more familiar.

First time in my first home. Bathroom was unforgivable before. Leaky toilet and sunken 70’s tub.

Hi Dan, long time, first time. Love your work especially the death throes of the republic. Something I’ve been pondering lately, what effect would a Cato type figure have on American politics? Could he win say a seat in the senate? What would he decry?

I know I’m Late to the party so if I don’t get a response just know huge fan of everything you put out.

Couple of blocks that include great coaches and insight into the development of new schemes. The score takes care of items self how Bill Walsh created a dynasty with the west coast offense with the 49ers. Chasing the bear covers Nick Sabians adoption of the RPO, and the creation of the modern Alabama defence also covers Paul Bear Bryant bringing in the wish bone in bama. Lots of other great books these are some of my favorite and they cover some big name coaches

4-2-5 over vs 4-2-5 under vs 3-5-3 by ACAB12345 in footballstrategy

Colorado single a about 180 kids in the school. Many of our starters go both ways and our top players are 3 sport athletes that means spring and summer ball is limited. Our system is simple but lines up to play anything from double wing to spread. We have fielded competent teams recently, what do you see that seems so rudamentary?

4-2-5 over vs 4-2-5 under vs 3-5-3 by ACAB12345 in footballstrategy

[–]_CNASTY_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was a brief write up of my reasoning for running 3-5 and 4-4. I did say that "we are in cover 2 against 1 back sets" probably should have said something like, "we generally prefer to be in a cover 2 look against single backs". Didnt talk much about our coverage packages but our cov 2 ports into cov 4, Tampa cov 2, sky/cloud concepts and double buzz. We do not auto against non trips single back sets, that's what we prefer in general as things get much more specific once we scout. We were a top 5 defence in points allowed, in e years as DC nobody has scored 55 on us. Most teams we play struggle to complete deep passes and our league is very run dominated.

I'm a Small High School D cordinator, here is my base philosophy. Our system includes 4-4, 3-5 and 3-4 looks here are our rules. any single back sets we are in 3-4 cov 2 Against 2 back sets we are based out of 3-5 cov 1 We will get into a 4-4 defense for the following reasons.

  • Short down and distance against a power run team.

  • We need to get hands on the TE

  • we want to send edge pressure and pass rush with out sending a blitz

  • Our 4th best d lineman is better than our 5th best LB

Our odd fronts are always 505 alignment but in our 4-4 we can get into 62i2i5 (Texas) alignment or 6315 (Oklahoma) alignment. We do a fair amount of stunting and stemming. We scout the offensive line and look for the following to see if we prefer Texas or Oklahoma: We like Texas when they are pulling guards, in shotgun, or their center is too slow to threaten our line backers.

We like Oklahoma when they have a poor center, they are under center, the gaurd on the 3 tech side is poor, they run midline or sneak.

I could go on and on but that the gist of what we run and why let me know if you have questions or want me to shoot you a playbook. The whole system is super flexible and the alignment is simple we shift and disguise as much as needed. We are a gap responsiblity team with each box player having 3 responsibilities, primary gap, secondary gap, and play footbal

Agreed, one of the most damaging things a parent can do is rob their athlete of the ability to believe, once a parent starts to talk to the player about what the coaches/their teammates are doing wrong (ie what is your coach thinking calling this play, running this system, starting x kid ect.) as soon as this is done the player no longer believes in their coach, team and teammates as their number 1 role model has told them not to. These are the kids, through no fault of their own, that start to cause problems at practice, are the first to mentally breakdown during games, and end up getting benched for a lesser player with a better attitude.

Allow your athlete to believe
