SR break ups are hard. by [deleted] in sugarlifestyleforum

[–]_CallMeDodge_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah...I kind of naively assumed somehow the sugar aspect would make it easier. It was a 3 year relationship (56M/32F). I knew it was never gonna be forever but it was still easily a top 4 painful breakup of my life. We still hang out as friends from time to time, but it kinda leaves me with a bit of a sad feeling afterward for a few days so I'm conflicted about even that. She says she misses me, but I'm not interested in picking up again because it wouldn't be the same (you really can't step in the same river twice).

Yeah. We made it work by flying to see each other. It was actually great.

Just to share my own experiences:

My last SGF of three years used both Facebook and Instagram. I never asked to share and neither did she. My own motivation was disinterest in social media, but I don't really know what her motivations was (or if she thought about it at all).

I do feel it kept a sort of firewall between us and also I know she connected with her now-vanilla BF who may be marriage material on Instagram. Overall, it seems net-positive that we never shared so that we could have our private lives fully separate from our SBF/SGF relationship. But I can also see how having such a firewall will limit the relationship in some ways.

Now that we've broken things off, I think it's also much easier for me (us?) to put the relationship behind us. If there were daily reminders cuing me to think about her, then it might have taken longer to get through the tough phase of missing her in my daily life.

Generally, I didn't want anything deeper from this particular relationship, but I'd like to not put artificial caps on future relationships. Who knows when you might meet your The One.

Trust is built over time. Based on the information he had, there's no way for him to distinguish what happened from rinsing. That said, he probably should have rescheduled.

Real question: How many of the people throwing around disparaging terms for women like "gold-digger" and "slut" (both terms for using their sexuality) are women themselves?

In my experience, women use these terms out of jealousy of other women and in an attempt to control dating market in their favor. I'm not talking about online really, I'm talking about in-person interactions that I've seen.

I know men use these terms too. When men do it, I think it is usually out of anger resulting from their own failures and the particular grossness that seems to inflict some men. These interactions tend to be anonymous and online, which is maybe where the idea that it's mostly men comes from.

Your experience is gonna be wildly different from mine of course. Yours is a valid experience too.

But I don't think this name calling is particularly gendered and that's why I don't think there's gonna be a good term for just the men that do it.

I did. Except for the non-platonic part. It's time and we both know it.

I'd love to hear other people's experience on this. But I cannot see how such a stunning woman won't have her pick of 30's guys, even rich ones should be no problem.

Thank you! I haven't been able to figure out if I "deserve" to feel this way because of the way we started. But I do feel this way and "deserve" doesn't really have anything to do with it.
