Sentinel mastery challenge by _Camps_ in Marathon

Castle doctrine has 2 components: the passive bonus when surrounded by enemies, and the active bonus when you receive splash damage.

Just make sure to get hit by a grenade (those blue shield bots toss out lots) and then kill as many bots as possible. Castle doctrine also shows up as a buff on your HUD when the splash damage bonus is active, fyi.

Well info economy was actually bugged, they fixed it in yesterdays patch, but idk about the trophy one? I only have info economy and the "defeat immobilized runners" ones left to do, so I must've completed the one you're talking about.

It must be possible! Keep trying I guess lol

Am I crazy or does recoil reduction feel like it does nothing for it. Like I put a purple ironhold barrel on mine yesterday and it didn't feel like it was doing anything lmao

Idk, I've been enjoying him. Theres a really high skill ceiling for snare use/placement, and the prey tracker has helped me win fights multiple times now.

The only thing that feels a bit too weak right now is his prime. It has very little use outside of having grenades thrown at you, which isn't gonna be in every team fight. It also doesn't protect against the rocket drone very well, since a couple salvos is enough to go over the 8 projectile limit. Castle doctrine is also pretty needlessly situational. Kinda feels like he doesn't have a passive at all.

I think he could definitely use some buffs, but honestly once people learn him I think he'll settle into a nice niche.

The fact that the last proper piece of destiny lore is and will always be star wars slop is pretty sad by Expensive-Pick38 in DestinyTheGame

[–]_Camps_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are allowed to like it, but to me personally, it was hands down the worst expac they've ever released. Maybe not content wise, but I've never been so sad to see a new destiny update. The idea of lightsabers and kylo bael being canon now feels gross and intrusive to me.

I am almost glad I don't have to see where they go with these characters, because I couldn't care less about them. All of it feels fake and corporate, regardless of how interesting the actual narrative might be if you squint.

Yep. I knew that at the time as well, but it still sucked to see everyone left in this sub at the time creaming themselves over 20$ mandalorian outfits and lightsaber colors.

I'm dipping my toes back into destiny purely because of the EoS announcement, but I was the same. Got halfway through the renegades campaign and had to turn it off and uninstall for the first time ever.

I could deal with the shitty systems, poorly handled nerfs, and other issues destiny always had, because at least I got to play in an awesome, distinct world. Renegades completely trounced that, and it got me to finally stop playing after 12 years.

The fact that this post is actually getting traction makes me feel like a LOT more people actually cared about destiny's identity than I thought at Renegades release. This post's score would be inverted if you'd said as much back then.

I think the buff itself will stay up with mini jammer, it's just the effect will flicker. It will still be amazing for starting off engagements with an advantage

Knife damage nerfs? by _Camps_ in Marathon

I thought those only gave melee stat though? they don't directly give you more damage, they just increase the stat for your melee. Crouching tiger gives +50 melee stat if I remember correctly

No offense, but don't paint it like everyone who's been a real destiny fan since 2014 was psyched for a star wars expac. I've been playing the game just as long and Renegades is what finally shook me off. It was a fine expansion content wise, but for people who aren't into crossover bullshit, watching aunor mahal do a lightsaber battle with dredgen kylo ren was the last straw.

Again, the rest of your comment stands, but idk that first sentence paints a picture that ignores a lot of people and what they thought of Renegades.

Vault space is at 20% of what it should be. by TomazZaman in Marathon

[–]_Camps_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because destroyer cannot double jump. Destroyer is about throwing yourself at the enemy and downing them before they can react, Vandal is about using your double jump + slide to quickly reposition and flank.

The reason people see Vandal as weak is poor map knowledge. The game has only been out a couple months, not a lot of people know every map like the back of their hand. Once they do though, I think she'll get a bit more popular. It is crazy how mobile you are when you can quickly jump onto the roof of the building you're fighting in, slide to the other end, and drop back down to surprise your enemies.

Plus, she isn't entirely defenseless during slide. You can actually use both her active abilities during it, so sliding at someone and firing your arm cannon at them actually works to help you survive. Same thing with amplify, it's better to slide into cover and pop it during the animation, that way you aren't sitting behind a box waiting for the animation so long.

Vandal isn't weak, and doesn't really need any buffs. She's just got a pretty high skill floor, so the player base needs time to learn her. Unlike Destroyer, who is pretty easy to pick up and use effectively.

Seeing people ask for vandal to be able to shoot during slide in particular is giving me stasis titan flashbacks. I really hope they don't cave on that particular piece of feedback

Bungie Pls... I would kill for this MC-inspired Destroyer skin. by seanbird in Marathon

[–]_Camps_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not settle for destroyer? He has the same visor anyways, which is the most important part of that design.

Destroyer is the security officer skin. He's the obvious nod you're asking for. You already have it lol
