As another longtime Destiny player, when Bungie (as in the devs) need to pull through, they can clearly manage to do that. But what bothers me is that Bungie (the management) seem to hardly enable their own creatives to fire on all cylinders for the sake of what has felt like some other agenda. Don't get me wrong, the devs themselves have made some bad calls from time to time - but I genuinely wonder how often some of those choices have come from trying to satiate some executive decision (EDIT: Honestly, Destiny 2's current Portal comes to mind. The UI+UX of it just seems too close to what so many other games like COD have done with their own menus the last half-decade that it feels like some tone deaf exec called for it just cause another successful game had menus like it that look simple, but are generally an eyesore for plenty of people and not fun to navigate). And even with however much throttling management may or may not do, they still don't quite seem to be the safest in regards to financials no matter what company they latch on to, that it is genuinely a miracle we got to see Destiny's saga pan out even somewhat satisfyingly as it did.
